Brazen Fox - Session 1

After a champagne celebratory reception, nice one Lisana, we finally have a ship and start to talk about where we go from here. Zak, Dane and Reeva decide to go looking for contracts/leads for a job as we need to earn the credits to keep the ship running. Cho tags along. Whilst Lisana and Hong head out to gather materials for ship repairs as both hull and engines are damaged, hull at minus 10 and engines having taken a critical hit.

Lisana and Hung look for and find a group of thieves that seem intent on taking some crates of spares that our guys have already earmarked for our ship. As the thieves move in, Hong jumps on one of them, a Rodian, and proceeds to knuckle dust the Rodian's green face, his first hit really stunning it. Hong continues to pummel the Rodian for effect calling it names to establish it as a thief, whilst Lisana convinces the owners of the crates that she and Hong have saved the day. The owners are impressed and agree to provide 900 cr worth of spares and the loan of tools to help with our repairs that Lisana had explained was our reason for being there, legitimately trying to locate spares ourselves. Good result.. except for the Rodian.

Meanwhile the other four crew head for the cantina, the Blasted Asteroid. Cho and Zak get into conversation, Cho asking how Zak is coping. Dane & Reeva don't talk as we are too busy ear wigging the other conversation. The cantina is a bit dingy, though a number of droids are working to try to keep it clean. A first look around reveals a big beefy bouncer of a barman, a Corellian holding court in one corner and attracting a lot of interest. Zak also notices an Abednedo female in a shady booth who seems to have noticed Reevabut doesn't declare herself. Reeva is oblivious. Dane buys himself an ale
which suddenly seems to expand to everyone else, and not for the first time. Reeva names him Deep-pockets Dane. Dane then starts to talk to the barman about who around here might be offering work. The Abednedo starts to approach and Zak quietly alerts Reeva who says she knows her well - Eranas, friend and fellow bounty hunter. Despite knowing she is approaching, Reeva is still taken by surprise but they laugh and hug. Eranas invites us back to her booth to talk. She tells us that a guy called Reom is looking for a reputable crew who can keep their mouths shut. We express our interest and she agrees to put in a good word for us. Reeva asks her if she has had any success of the long term project (Reeva's mum)and Eranas says she might but needs to check it out first, not wanting to give false hopes.

At this point Lisana and Hong arrive, Lisana having just bet Hong 20 cr that he can't bed Eranas. Hong seems reluctant to accept the challenge. Zak & Cho decide to head towards the Corellian and Lisana and Hong go with them. Cho and Reeva continue to share drinks and chat over old times with Eranas, sharing bounty hunter stories. Lisana charms the Corellian and he names a 10 cr price for questions. They ask him about Reom. He tells them that Reom runs Isotech, a company that deal with high underground tech. They are good at custom installations. Then they ask the Corellian about reputable fixers. He says that Drex Versa is discreet, has the potential for knowing of a lot of jobs and is a solid guy.

We hear back from Reom and decide to go to the meeting at his corporate HQ. He explains that what he is about to tell us has to stay between us and that Eranas had recommended us. We agree and he asks if we have heard of a ship called the Sa-Nalaor? This ship is the subject of many rumours and stories. A treasure ship from the Clone Wars, missing, and commonly used in cons as it is a gold-plated rumour. It is said to be around the Cholganna system but it may not even exist. The rumours do crop up often though and the Empire has put some effort into finding it. In fact it is said to have disappeared fleeing from Imperial pursuit. But just yesterday another ship bumped into a message pod from the Sa-Nalaor. Seems the pod has been hanging around in space for 20 years or so. Reom wants us to go and find the ship bringing back as much information and goods as we can. He mentions that he has Raksis Prime, a covert salvage operation and bringing back good tech could double or even treble our fee, which is £10K, 10% up front. Are we interested? He gives us the room so we can discuss and we decide to go ahead.

From this point we get more information including the analysis of the pod. Cholganna is a forest planet that was home to nexu, agile predators with four red eyes and sharp quills. They had infrared vision and were 4.51 meters long. Typically 0.94 meters tall, nexus possessed sharp teeth and claws, as well as long tails. It's light build allowed it to remain highly agile and difficult to hit and it ambushes its prey from above. Not nice. The pod indicates that the frigate is still there though damaged. Its captain, Rel Parsol had requested assistance. The two routes available is a risky direct jump or a longer route via the Perlemian trade route. Reom thinks the tech the ship was carrying was cybernetics, expert level and could be old republic. He also offers us a 50/50 split on any additional loot. He provides data chips and holo chips, and says he has a protocol IT3PO droid that might be helpful to us. Apparently Roem's father had know the Captain which is why he has the pod but he knows that word is already out and has increased security at Isotech. His sister, Sheera, operates the official side of their business and there might be other opportunities in the pipeline for us from her direction. She will also supply the droid to us tonight.

As we reach our ship to begin preparations, Cho pulls Reeva aside to talk about the Force and suggests that they keep that information from the others with the exception of Zak. Reeva is not altogether happy with this, saying that she trusted Lisana and doesn't want to keep it from her. Cho emphasises that it could be dangerous for the others to have that knowledge. Only the thought that Reeve might be protecting Lisana makes her agree.

Then we all get busy to use our time productively until the droid arrives and we can leave. We research the nexu so we are better prepared. Hong works on the ship repairing the hull back to minus 8. We discuss the dangers of having Reom's droid as it could be a spy.

Zak is in his cabin preparing his gear and hears a noise outside. He finds an unauthorised droid looking around. Finding Lisana and then Hong, they agree Hong should take a look at it. The droid appears to have been hacked, which has an Empire flavour to it, and it has been sent to plant a homing beacon. They decide to let it fulfil its mission but then intend to ditch the beacon after we have left the planet. Meanwhile Dane goes shopping for breathers for Zak, Cho and himself.

Cho and Reeva find an opportunity to talk to Zak, making his aware that they are Force sensitive. He is concerned, knowing what a big deal that could be. But he feels that it is better that the rest of the crew are told, rather than find out later. To gain trust you first have to give it. Reeva agrees with him but worries that she would be putting Lisana at risk.

Reeva wants to head back to the cantina to see Eranas and asks Zak to go with her. She explains that the long term mission was about Reina and that if Eranas had found anything she wants him to hear it first hand. They leave for that rendezvous and find her at the cantina. When asked, Eranas cannot remember having said anything but she remembers the rest of their previous meeting. Reeva tries to read her emotional state which seems to be a genuine confusion. Reeva starts to ask questions to confirm this is really Eranas and she does so. Reeva is convinced that this and the previous Eranas are both the genuine article. Has someone wiped her memory? And do they know something about Reeva's mum? Reeva tells her to be careful and they head back to the ship and tell Cho. They have a brief discussion but then Lisana calls everyone for cocktails.

Before many minutes have passed, the droid is approaching the ship under escort. And everyone is dispatched to battle stations just in case. Dane heads for the pilot's chair, Hong to Engineering, Reeva to the gun turret, she take a bottle with her whilst Lisana defends her right to do that to the others. Zak heads out to meet the droid whilst others keep watch. Suddenly the droid escort is under attack and are killed! And the droid gets whisked off on a flyer by rodians, two remain behind to secure their escape. Zak attacks them moving up to try to get to the droid. Dane grabs a flyer to give chase and Lisana jumps on the back. Cho moves up to assist Zak whilst Reeva is making her way from the turret to the back of the ship. Meanwhile Hong takes control of the ship, lifts off and turns the ship around to buffet everyone with the engine backwash. The droid and its captors disappear, one of the Rodians was knocked prone and Cho knocks out another, so we will have 2 to question. But Zak is hurt! We regroup though Dane and Lisana try to give chase but fail and so Lisana gets off the flyer to find out what ships are scheduled to leave as we know someone is trying to get the jump on us. Meanwhile Hong gets Reeva's healing kit and manages to help Zak. Maybe he's not so bad after all? Lisana manages to get the list of ships and sends them back to the ship.

Lisana isn't back!! Or Dane. But Reeva knows that Lisana is in trouble. She leaves the ship at a run and hears Lisana scream inside her head. She follows her instincts and finds Lisana slumped unconscious on the floor. Dropping to her knees, Reeva tries desperately to bring her around. Lisana then tells Reeva that she was attacked by a man in grey robes who asked her "Who is Reeva?" before knocking her out mumbling he hadn't time for this. Reeva wants to get Lisana back to the ship and helps her to her feet, calling on comms for help. Zak sets out to come and find them whilst Cho gets busy interrogating the two Rodians, worried that they may have had something to do with the other attack also. It seems not but they do confirm they were part of the Eeyah pack and also crew on the Nightflyer which has just taken off. Lisana is worried about going back to the ship, worried that they may provide a trail for her attacker and is principally worried for Reeva. Reeva however is more concerned about Lisana and figures the ship is the safest place for her. Reeva stays with Lisana which everyone else rushes around to get the ship ready for take-off, planning to pursue or maybe even get ahead of the Nightflyer. Whilst the following conversations are taking place, Dane & Hong get the ship underway, deciding to go for the riskier one-jump option to try to stay ahead of the Nightflyer.

Whilst this is going on, Reeva seeks out Cho and Zak and tells them about Lisana's attack and that she has been thinking about what Zak had said before. She now wants to tell Lisana and the others about her Force powers because she says that they deserve to make the choice as to whether she stays.. or maybe they stay.. as the stakes are much higher now. And Reeva feels guilty that somehow she had brought the attack on Lisana. Cho still isn't sure it is a good idea and Reeve says that she can still keep her own powers secret, Reeva would respect her privacy. Zak, too, reassures Cho and during that inadvertently drops into conversation that when they had met before, Cho was on contract. Reeva is astounded and questions them both. She finds out that Cho had been contracted to terminate Zak but Zak had talked to her. He had been at a really low ebb and somehow touched Cho enough that she instead walked away. Reeva then heads off to talk to Lisana.

Lisana is in their cabin looking bruised and scared. Reeva tell her that she knew she was in trouble, heard her scream inside her head and that's why she had found her so quickly. She tries to explain that this happened because she was Force sensitive. Lisana had thought that Reeva was intending to break up with her. Reeva denies that emphatically, realising that Lisana is feeling very insecure. Instead she says that Lisana must think of herself as them staying together is a huge risk for her. Lisana says she doesn't want to leave Reeva and Reeva says she doesn't want Lisana to go either. Lisana says that the few months they had been together had been the happiest in her life. Reeva is touched by that and both of them realise that they are closer now than they have ever been. Lisana is really scared that Reeva is in danger, people will find out and she will be hunted down. Reeva says her powers are growing but she doesn't understand them nor has she had any training. However she doesn't think that ordinary people can tell that about her. They talk more about the attacker. Lisana is really worried that she might have given him information whilst she was out of it. Reeva tells her that she doesn't think so. She also tells her about Eranas and her loss of memory and both agree that it might be the same guy. Reeva then panics in case Lisanna had been bugged. They strip search Lisana looking for any evidence.

Meanwhile the conversation between Cho and Zak continued in Zak's cabin. Cho warned him that Reeva might have a case of hero--worship in his regard.

To be continued..

Brazen Fox - Session 2

Now in hyperspace and it is dinner the following evening. Reeva tells everyone (well Dane & Hong) that she is force sensitive. She tries to explain what it means but not too well as she really doesn't understand it herself. Dane sounds interested, Hong thinks that force sensitives are frauds. Neither seem too worried but probably happier to be in the know.. maybe? Cho is probably not happy.

The rest of the journey is uneventful but we come out of hyperspace with sensors and alarms working overtime. Cho is manning sensors and they are scrambled. Dane can't see to pilot. Seems we are in some sort of debris field and the situation is dire. A huge object is on a collision course but Dane manages to avoid it. Meanwhile Hong manages to get sensors back on line. Then we are hit again. Total hull damage is now 25. Hong gets to work and manages to make a few rudimentary repairs. Hull damage now totals 23. However our route does seem to have gotten us here ahead of the NightFlyer. We head down to the planet on damaged sub-light engines. Lisana says she is staying aboard as she feels she would be a liability. Hong stays too to continue repairs. But first they have to find what they came for. They star to search using what data they had. Reeva tries to use the force but fails. However Hong arrives having been working on an algorithm during hyperspace which he puts into use. And it works!

The ship's debris seems to be spread over a wide area. We try to narrow it down to find the main impact area. Dane analyses the debris using his survival skills and manages to zero in on what he thinks is the impact area. Hong tweaks his algorithm and we locate what we believe to be an escape pod and the main part of the ship. We find a place to set the ship down about 500m from the crevice where the escape pod is. As previously agreed, Zak, Cho, Dane & Reeva head out of the ship, cutting their way through the undergrowth. Reaching the lip of the crevice, Cho volunteers to be lowered down to take a look. Zak and Dane hold the rope, Reeva stands guard. Suddenly she opens fire, grunting as she takes damage. All those at the rim are under attack from arboreal purple octopuses, three of them. Although Cho is currently not under attack, her rope is held by two people who are under attack. Dane drops the rope to retaliate, Zak manages to hold on, trying but failing to get a weapon out as well. Seeing their predicament, both Dane & Reeva attack the octopus on Zak, trying to help both him and Cho. Hong & Lisana, alerted by gunfires etc, take off and head in trying to use the ship to swipe the trees that house the octopuses. Cho manages to climb off the rope and then up the crevice, so eventually all efforts force the creatures to retreat but most of us are hurt. We return to the ship to lick our wounds.

The next day we prep and the group head back to the crevice. We locate the escape pod, lots of insects like hornets but we do our best to ignore them. Cho goes inside and finds skeletons, damaged weapons and some data which Hong retrieves. The data reveals that the Capt had some sort of scheme. The pod had 3 humans and 2 nemoidians in it who had disliked being forced into the scheme. Plus Kratala was known to be involved in political treachery against Chancellor Palatine.

We head back into the ship and move to the main crash site next to a lake which looks as though it had been formed during the crash when the ship's engines had plugged a river at the head of the valley. Approaching the site we find the remnants of a survivor camp, complete with about 20 burial sites all dated on the crash day or just after. It has been long abandoned and is now overgrown. We turn our attention to the main part of the ship along side the camp. There are several entrance/exit points all open and many are rents where the jagged metal has been bent back to allow easier access. The whole thing is also camouflaged and some of it looks recent, within the last few months. The scanner shows lifeforms within the ship and we look for the best way in.

We find an entrance that leads down to a T junction and determine that the bridge is likely off to the right, whilst ships sensors are to the left, along with a hatchway that possibly leads down to the hold. We go right. The corridor takes us to a room with lockers. Everything has been stripped. Beyond this room is the turbolift, obviously not operational. Cho climbs taking a rope she secures for the rest of us to follow. The bridge is a wreck, trashed, overgrown, full of insects and small amphibians. There is also a bulkhead access where the door had been removed with a cutter. It shows little of interest and we decide to have a good look at the bridge. Behind a panel we find a holo-emitter and data record. We activate it. It shows pilots and engineers panicking, trying to regain control of the ship. Along with them there is the Capt and an acadian woman, presumably Kratala. And then the ship crashes. Discussing it we realise that this recording seems at odds with the remains of the settlement outside. Could it have been falsified? Why? What is going on?

We decide to head back towards our entrance and then head the other way towards the ship's sensors. However we detect two lifeforms entering the bridge. One heads our way, the other heads outside. We position for an ambush, lining each side of the corridor opposite the entrance. Towards the bridge are Zak (left),Cho and Reeva (right). Lisanna is immediately behind Reeva with Dane behind her. Hong is across from them behind Zak. The lifeforms emerge, one to the front (bridge) and one to the back. They are Nexu. That is bad enough but they have been cyber-enhanced. The one at the front has electrified claws, the one to the rear, reinforced jaws. They are working as a pair and displaying an intelligence we believe is higher than their natural level. A fight starts. Three of us have medium ranged weapons, three short ranged so Zak, Dane and Reeva open fire, all hitting but difficult to tell how much if any damage we have done. Rather than waste an opportunity Cho steps forward, opening fire with her needle gun. I think they have been hit. However they move in to atttack, the first ripping into Cho with its electrified claws and she goes down beneath it. At the rear, the other one moving rapidly from side to side moves it on Dane and chomps down on him hard with its enhanced jaws. Dane is unconscious at best but looks badly hurt. Lisana is brilliant! Despite her fears she steps forward and fires at the one over Cho. Then Hong brings up a contraption that is a sort of glue-gun that then ignites the glue. The one holding Dane has dropped him so Hong opens fire on it, sticking it to the floor and setting it aflame! Wow! We then finish the critters off. Dane is healed and regains consciousness, still hurt though but despite a stimpak Cho remains alive but unresponsive. We know we need to get back to the ship but take the head off the uncharred one so we can look at the transmitter. However this does suggest that Kratala may still be alive.

Back at the ship, we try to recuperate but it is slow going. Hong gets to work on the transmitter but doesn't get anything useful from it. Eventually, some hours later, Cho wakes. Then we get the news that the NightFlyer has arrived and has started a search pattern. Then another alert. There are three blips inbound up the river. These blips turn out to be large water lizards with a sort of canoe like structure mounted on them so their passengers can travel. Apart from 6 combat droids and some men, Capt Parsol is with them. We decide that diplomacy might be the best option and so Zak, Reeva and Lisana go out to meet them. We explain that Reom from Isotech sent us as his father has died since the Capt disappeared. Our job was to find out what happened to the ship. We also warm them about the Rodians and the Nightflyer's imminent arrival and about them stealing IT3CPO. The Capt then insists that we all go to their settlement where he will question both us and the Rodians before making a decision. We don't really have a choice.

So after a fairly long river trip, we arrive at their fortified encampment, making the most of a sheltered cleft on the side of the river. It seems many have survived the crash and there are children here too. Someone yells out asking why we have been brought there, why the Capt hasn't killed us already. Sounds like we are not the first to have visited. He explains that currently we are guests and that others are coming. He wants to question them too to determine the truth. His authority is challenged and he says that he will include Kratala and a few others if that makes them happier. This seems to appease them for now but we are in a precarious position.

Then Kratala arrives with some of her 'staff'. She enquires after us, offering healing. Once she learns that we were attacked by her Nexu she questions us about them seemingly intent on learning about our experience so she can enhance them further; even asking us for ideas! Of course Hong obliges. She then changes topic to the wider world wanting to know the political situation. We tell her what we can and you can see that she is not happy that the Empire's influence has spread so widely. Hong makes it clear that they are no longer safe here because if we got here, the NightFlyer found the information, then others will have it too. Zak reinforces this by telling her about the attempt to plant a tracking device on our ship. She is very concerned. As the Capt returns, she takes her leave, offering to show Hong around her lab the following day. He accepts. Seems they have crazy in common.

The Capt still seems OK with us but still has to reach a conclusion about the Rodians. We are 'invited' to stay the night. Not as if we have much of a choice but we still want to gain their trust. We get the impression that the Capt is hiding something when he suggests we don't wander to far for our own safety but we think he doesn't want us to talk to his people.

Brazen Fox - Session 4

Having been left to our own devices with a couple of minders in tow, Hong and Cho get together to crack the Rhodian comms in the hope we can get some useful lintel on what they are up to. They succeed in doing so but all in quiet. The rest of us go for a wander to see what we can learn. Outside the lab is lit and fully powered but nowhere else. Only torches and fires provide light elsewhere but this is mostly restricted to settlers' homes. Lisana & Reeva go to talk to the children, figuring that they might not be as inhibited in talking with us We help them with their chores. We learn that Roona is a middle-aged human, a joint mecanic with Neenan who runs the garage. Feeno runs the generator. We also learn that strangers have been here a few times before but always left, never returning, and the kids never saw spaceships leaving. Are there conclusions to draw here? It seems the parents' greatest fear is the empire turning up. Zak & Dane are following along, keeping an eye on things. Zak watches the Rhodians who seem to be surveilling the settlement. Lisana encourages the kidds to lead us towards the Rhodians. Whenb Lisana gets close, one of them draws a weapon but is stopped by another. One bad mark for them hopefully. We return to our room to get some sleep.

Aside: Cho tackles Dane about Hong, concerned because he now knows about Reeva but does not seem to be taking it seriously and she is worried that he might say something inappropriate at the wrong time. Dane understands her concern and promises to talk to Hong, which he does and Hong agrees not to mention it again. Dane does worry about how long this will stay in his memory.

Aside: Lisana takes Cho aside to ask about the implications for Reeva if the Empire ever learn of her powers. What Cho tells her - death or interrogation/imprisonment - does not allay her fears. She also asks Cho about her relationship with Reeva, in that she seems to take on a mother figure role. Cho explains that they have worked together and go back a couple of years, been through some stuff together. Lisana reminds Cho that Reeva is not a child. Cho agrees that Reeva has grown up a lot over the last couple of years but says she will continue to look out for her. Lisana seems satisfied with this.

In the morning, after a night full of humidity and loud jungle noises, the guys (not Hong) go out for a run. We all then have breakfast together and Capt Harsol arrives. He offers us a tour, starting at the offices and then to the bluff. Hong asks what the Rhodians had to say. We discuss what might happen if the Empire turns up. Next he shows us the Nexu cages and then on to the laboratories, all kitted out with high tech facilities. There are assistants and other staff inside, along with Krytala. In discussing the possible evacuation again, they both agree that Krytala and her research could be ready to leave within an hour. Krytala herself had a cyber eye and she and Zak discuss possible enhancements to his cyber eye and right arm. Then we move on to the generator. This comes from their original ship. Rivet, a hairy frogman, is the guy who looks after it.
More discussion follows with the Capt about the assistance we can offer. He listens but says he needs to speak again to the Rhodians also. We are honest and open with him, agreeing that we cannot take everyone but would have room for Krytala and a few other to go to Raxis Prime and Reom. The Capt admits they are concerned about further support for the colony and hoped to trade Krytala's expertise and research to provide for them and for those who wish to return to mainstream living. He is concerted about whether we would return. Reeva suggests that some of them might stay behind which would guarantee a return and allow more of them to go. His main concerns are the ongoing safety from the Empire for both Krytala and the settlement. He suggests we discuss further amongst ourselves.
Several of us don't like the idea of splitting up though Lisana and Reeva are willing to stay. We discuss lots of options of how to protect Krytala including laying false trails, the settlement by providing evidence of barely any survivors and about maybe using the Rhodians as a false trail. Reeva even suggests that they might take Krytala whilst we take the real one. As expected Cho doesn't like that idea but does consider it. To be fair, Reeva doesn't like it either but they are getting desperate to come up with a plan that will beat any offer the Rhodians might have made.
Discussions over for the minute, Hong heads for the labs and picks up the wrong signals from Krytata and tries to seduce her. An epic fail. She pushes him away and he lands on a bench saw taking a grievous wound to his nether regions. He passes out. Coming to, he finds himself already being attended to and bandaged.
At supper time. the Capt returns and says the Rhodians have made an offer, a generous one, for the tech but that if we could match it he would prefer ro deal with us. It does seem that our policy of being honest and straight has won the day! We discuss ways in which to divert/convince the Empireaway from the settlement so they have a good chance of survival whilst we deliver Krytala and her research to Reom to generate them further funds to support the settlement. The Capt indicates that the Rhodians will not be a problem. We then consider using the Nightflyer also, though there is talk of leaving it hear for the settlement to use on the generator and other areas. But it does present an opportunity to lay a false trail for Krytala which Cho could assist with by masquerading as her. We are almost done when the Empire arrive. Not good timing! The settlers panic, including the Capt and the Security guy. The Empire say then only want to talk and offer assistance. They know who the settlers are. Zak plays for time and goes to find the Capt. Meanwhile the Rhodians are up to something.
Next minute their ship is coming in. One of the Rhodians fires on Lisana. Reeva shoots back. Both miss. Dane runs for the ladder up the cliff so he can see what is going on. Much to his dismay, moments later, the Rhodians also run for the ladders as their ship is heading for the top of the cliff to pick them up. A gun battle errupts, their ship's fire scattering everyone in the compound as they open fire on Dane who shoots back. Cho also runs for the ladder, now looking like a Rhodian, and fires on them from the bottom.
In the exchange Dane takes several hits and two crits but Cho is holding her own as most don't realise she is not really one of them. Hong also runs for the ladder to help Dane managing to hit one but also to break the ladders stopping the Rhodian pursuit. Dane finally reaches cover at the top of the cliff hurting badly, only to face the Rhodian ship. However Zak's request to the Empire is heard and they dispatch a ship to take on the Rhodian ship, stopping it from firing on Dane or on the compound again. The rest of the group are now too far away to help and so watch the cliff drama with bated breath as Cho Rhodian takes another down. Their leader screams for the ship to come down and save him. They try but as he jumps for the ship, he misses and plummets to his death. Cho finishes off the remainder whilst Hong goes to fetch Dane and get him to the Med facility where they cure 2 crits and 2 wounds, leaving him with another 4. He came close that time. Zak buys them a bit more time with the Empire who are still trying to sound helpful and offer medics. We hatch a quick Plan B.
Capt heads for the lab to finish laying the charges, Lisana heads for Krytala who is hiding amongst the Nexu cages. She tells Lisana and Hong what she needs from the labs. The intention now is to head off under the cover of darkness with Krytata, research and assistants using the river creatures to get back to our ship. Hong suggests she should take a Nexu too, travelling overland. It would be a backup for us. We still have to find a way to take off without the Empire knowing ideally, assuming that we do reach the ship at all. Dane tells us his cousin was flying the Empire ship that tackled the Rhodian one. Maybe she can help? Then we blow the lab.Now we have to convince the Empire that it was not a deliberate act. Maybe the Rhodians, maybe an accident? We have to be convincing enough to stall them until morning when hopefully we will not be around. Good game, good game!

Brazen Fox - Session 5

We had a planning session to throw off the Empire and to get Krytala off planet. The main idea was to deceive the Empire into believing that the Rhodians had taken Krytala. We know that time is passing and we don’t want the Empire to find our ship. So we decide to get comms from Capt H once we are at the ship saying that we are going after the Rhodians to take back Krytala as she is our payback.

Plan in place, the next issue is to get Krytala out of the nexu cages. Lisana tries to talk to Krytala who is paranoid about falling into Empire hands. Eventually she listens to Lisana and emerges. We make preparations to depart which include releasing the nexu to create a diversion to cover our escape. We get to the river and race back towards the ship. So far so good.

Suddenly an Empire probe droid targets us. We open fire, Zak first but he misses. Reeva then takes a shot and manages to down it and take out its comms. However, it gets a final shot off before it is toast and hits our droid. Krytala’s security guy finishes it off. We reach the ship.

Comms are initiated to Capt H who plays his part well, yelling at us for leaving and abandoning them. Cho lies well, telling him we are going after Krytala, not interested in him or the settlement. He calls us names & Cho cuts him off.

Hong puts the ship back together whilst Dane plots a course off planet ideally to avoid Empire detection. Hopefully that has worked. We leave on our way to Raxis Prime. We make the passengers comfortable; Hong looks after his baby nexu and we catch up with chores.

Towards the end of the journey, Reeva gets Dane to give her a piloting lesson, then slaps her patch (the one left behind when Reina was taken) onto the console, demanding to know what Dane knows about her mum. He is evasive and Reeva pushes using her mind powers to find out what he knows. The first thing she sees is her Mum, seemingly on a mission for the Empire but somehow communicating with another group that Dane thought might be rebels. When she realises that she has been rumbled, she pulls a gun on Dane, looking like she is going to kill him. Dane says he isn’t Empire, despite being a pilot for them and offers help. She doesn’t shoot him and he agrees to say nothing to anyone about it. The timing of this event is after Batuu but before Reeva met Dane.

Her next image is from about 3 months ago when a grey cowled man confronts Dane on the wheel and says that he should not tell Reeva or Zak about the previous incident when he saw Reina. Reeva then realises than the man put some sort of mind block on Dane to prevent him from revealing what he knows. Reeva thinks this man could be the same one that had affected Eranus’s memory and attacked Lisana.

It is at this point that Reeva realises what she has done, never intending to do so and Dane knows what she has done. She bursts into tears, saying ‘sorry’ over and over again. She flees with Dane in pursuit, really angry and saying she has raped his mind. That hits home even harder on Revva and she knows only to well just how that feels, how powerless and vulnerable, how things will never be the same again.

Dane corners her in the Galley. She takes refuge with Lisana. The others including passengers are there. Cho cautions Dane, who dismisses the passengers out of hand. They retreat to their cabins. Questions are aired, Reeva finally admitting what she has done with a nod, still too upset and ashamed to say more than sorry, over and over. Eventually Reeva retires to her cabin. Lisana sleeps in the storeroom that evening. Reeva feels like she has blown everything.

Hong goes after Dane to find out what happened and if his buddy is OK. He doesn’t understand the ‘rape’ reference despite Dane’s attempts to explain and finally decides to call it trespass, rather than rape, which makes more sense to him. He does however help Dane, giving him the opportunity to talk about it and even makes him laugh. Hong reiterates that he is always there for Dane whatever.

Also during the voyage, Cho and Zak visit their relationship. Cho wants to reveal her true self to Zak but the idea scares her. She does go ahead however, and Zak handles it reasonably well.

We arrive at the planet, Reeva in a turret, everyone else in the cockpit. Hong goes through the protocols to gain access however the Empire decide they want a full examination of our ‘crap’ cargo. We create a diversion by scheduling a number of ships in and in the confusion head down to the surface. There is a large toxic lake amidst the wrecks and scrap that liberally litter the surface.

A Rhodian, Norta, is in charge and makes contact. Seems he is expecting us. Zak tells him we have stuff of interest to Reom and he says he’ll relay the message. We want to do repairs to hull and engines and he offers help. Netting to camouflage the ship, a line of credit 2000 to assist.

Zak and Reeva stay on the ship with the passengers whilst the others go to source spares and some dumdum droids. Some bargaining takes place between the Jowas together with Hong and Lisana. Price for a droid starts at 600. Lisana gets them down to 550 and after a while to 450 which we deal on. Also with the promise of a good deal on two more droids later. Norta gives a further 5000 extended credit so that we can repair the ship's engines. Still have the hull to repair.

Cho leaves a false trail as Krytala booking passage on another ship. Zak & Reeva have a heart to heart, Reeva asking if she should go. Zak reassures her, saying it is important to learn a lesson from this and it is important how she deals with it.

On the others’ return, Reeva apologies to Dane again. Vows never to use her powers again, says she feels cursed. Offers to try to make amends. Dane says he is not sure what she can do to make amends and that he will find it difficult to trust her but that he doesn’t want her to go.

Hong and Dane go scavenging for materials for a work bench for Hong. They succeed. There are lots of Jowas about and probe droids appear occasionally which is a bit worrying. We learn that Reom will be here the day after tomorrow.

Reeva talks to Lisana. Asks Lisana if she hates her. Lisana says she is not sure what to feel. Reeva asks her if she wants her to go. Lisana says no. Reeva says she is sorry. Lisana says that she believes she is. Suggests that Reeva keeps talking to Cho and Zak and that they will talk again sometime later.

Lisana, Hong and Dane hit the bars for a drink. They tackle Dane expressing their concern. Dane says that Reeva is young and made a bad mistake. He explains how it had felt for him. Hong still doesn’t fully understand.

Brazen Fox - Session 6

We all have a disturbed night, possibly for different reasons.

Hong is finding it harder to look after the baby nexu as they are growing and constantly need more food. It is a nightmare.

Cho is meditating & keeping to herself. Thoughts turn to home, Dantooine, a happy place where she did a lot of her growing up. Then her feeling turn to terror as the Jedi massacre happened there. And her thoughts turn to a childhood companion, Gak, and what has happened to him. Cho suddenly feels he is being tortured in the old Jedi temple and is in a lot of pain. He seems to see her? "Cho?" but then there is a voice from behind Cho asking who Cho is and that maybe he and Gak still have more to talk about. The man starts to torture Gak again. This could be past, present or future.

Lisana feels conflicted.

Reeva is still upset, wanting things back as they were, not knowing how she can make things right.

Zak is encased again and in a room with other treasures. Seems he is part of a collection. A hutt comes into view. Vemla! She is well dressed and bejewelled as if going out somewhere special. She addresses Zak. Tells him she regrets not being able to take him with her but he is too precious. She licks his face, promising they will soon be together in the flesh.

Dane has nightmares relating to the brain rape he endured.

In the morning we get a message from Norta to say that Reom arrived about 4 hours ago and is getting some sleep. He will see us for breakfast. Hong decides to name his dumdum droid Ding Dong. We discuss arrangements for meeting Reom. Reeva volunteers to stay with the ship and passengers. Ding Dong is set to work surveying the netting in case we need to make a quick exit at any point. Cho feels there might be something wrong and so gets into a techie disguise and goes for a recce. Zak, Lisana, Dane & Hong head out to meet Reom.

At this point 3 Jowa skiffs approach Reom's HQ using our ship as cover. However those on board look a bit beefy for Jowas. Rhodians! Another group approach the HQ from the left. These are Trandoshan mercenaries. Our people are out in the open between the two! Battle commences.

The 3 skiffs, the middle one with a big gun, are holding position. Zak heads for cover but takes a shot and misses. Hong manages to crash some debris on the first skiff and Dane fires on the other one. Reeva has manned the ship's turret and opens fire on the middle skiff with the big gun as she sees this as the biggest threat, but she misses. However the blast does throw up a lot of debris. The Zak and Dane both get shot, Zak badly. Cho who is in the HQ raises the alarm and Lisana runs for Zak and administers a stimpack.

On the next round, Reeva opens fire again and hits the skiff with the big gun, taking it out. The Rhodians and big gun are only temporarily disabled. Zak then shoots a Rhodian, as does Hong. And Dane hits skiff 3. Cho heads to find and hopefully rescue Reom. The last remaining Rhodian from skiff 1 manages to place a charge on Reeva's turret. Lisana finds Dane and applies a stimpack to him.

Next round Zak runs in and grabs the charge, throwing it clear. Reeva, now free to act, is still worried by the big gun and fires at it and its crew. Looks like they won't be doing anything for a while. Hong heads towards HQ. Dane sees that last Rhodian about to fire at prone Zak and fires but hits Zak instead. Zak goes down. Lisana warns Reeva that one of the passengers might be a traitor and to watch her back. Reeva thanks Lisana, a small hope blossoming that she cared enough to give the warning.

Back in HQ, Cho tries to get Reom and 2 guards to safety as the Trandoshan mercenaries have penetrated the building. She tires to Close the blast doors but fails. Lisana applies another stimpack to Zak to bring him round, suggesting he gets into the ship. Reeva fires at the last skiff but misses. Dane shoots the remaining Rhodian next to the ship. Cho hustles the guys outside and asks Reom to slam the doors shut as they are being attacked by 3 mercenaries and a guard has gone down. He does. Hong arrives and tries to initiate counter boarding measures within the HQ. The last skiff opens fire at Dane. He goes down. Lisana once again to the rescue, reaches Dane and applies another stimpack to bring him round. Zak has gotten aboard the ship and heads for the other turret. Lisana gets Dane on board as well, meanwhile Reeva fires again at the crew of skiff 3 and blows them up.

It goes quiet.

Krytala heals both Zak & Dane of their crits and some wounds. Seems that Reom had measures within the HQ to gas the complex to neutralise any threat which was very effective but not lethal.

As things have quietened, the meeting with Reom takes place with Cho included this time. Reeva again stays on the ship. Reom is pleased with us, wants to work with us again if the right opportunity arises. Lisana negotiates and manages to up the offered £30K fee up by 10%. We pay off the £5K debt and buy materials to fix the hull. We also decide to sell our surplus equipment.

Later, back on board our ship, Cho and Zak talk about Reeva and the current situation, agreeing they need to talk to her. Zak goes to find her and they have a heart to heart. Reeva confirms that she considers the force a curse and doesn't intend to use it again. She says she cannot forgive herself, knows what it feels like to be violated and cannot believe that she did that to Dane. Zak says she should be kinder to herself, maybe learn how to control it, that she needs to have hope. Reeva says she has a small hope but needs time to come to terms with herself. They hug.

Lisana seeks out Cho trying to understand more about the force and what Reeva might be capable of. Lisana seems to care but also be scared of Reeva's capabilities.

Lisana and Hong go to check on Dane but Hong disappears, leaving Dane & Lisana to drink and chat. Lisana thinks Hong's approach is simplistic & is concerned how Dane is coping. During drinks, she asks Dane about his past. He explains about the family massacre and how the family coped. His parents were strong. Lisana reassures Dane that she will never mean him harm. He says he knows that. Lisana says she is not sure she can stay. Dane asks if that is because of Reeva. Lisana says yes. Dane tries to explain how he feels about the whole thing, says he doesn't think Reeva meant it and that it shouldn't define her whole life. But he had been scared by her and at the moment doesn't trust her. Lisana asks if he is happy to stay.
Dane says he is willing rather than happy to stay.

Later Dane is on his own in the cockpit, a little worse for wear after the drinks he shared with Lisana. A priority 1 Hellion message comes in. It says "Get the hell out of here. Just arrived in system and are scanning for you. Read the attachment after you have gone." Dane, suddenly sober, gets on comms and announces we are leaving now! He starts initiating launch sequences. Revva heads for a turret. Zak warns Reom before heading to the other turret. Cho takes sensors whilst Hong ensure the netting is removed. Dane needs a destination, Cho says Dantooine. Apparently it was on her mind.

We leave Raxis Prime bound for Dantooine with 5 successes and 3 threats. Meanwhile Lisana reads the attachment.

Brazen Fox - Session 7

On route to Dantooine, except that there is no real intention to go there. We have a team meeting. The main agenda is Hong's desire to take the Nexu to Vemmla to attempt to pay off his debt to her. And we do need to get the Nexu off the ship! Reeva is concerned about Zak's role in this and the risks that might be involved. Cho reassures saying that as long as Vemmla finds him interesting, it should be OK. Reeva then asks if she is likely to know about their involvement. Cho thinks that she will still believe it to have been a Black Sun raid. Reeva is still not happy but her concern has reduced.

Lisana then passes on a message to Dane from his cousin Larissa. She had saved him and us back with the refugees. Seems we are of interest to her boss, Supervisor Osnan. She also tells him that 5 of the Hellion family have been killed. It appears that the Empire are moving those that are critical of them, maybe ahead of a takeover. Reeva asks if he falls into that category & might be a target but as he is out of the company now, he thinks that unlikely.

At this point we mostly head off to bed whilst Dane & Lisana discuss Dane's family situation. Dane confesses that his aim was to bring the family business back to independence, somewhere away from the Empire. Lisana offers help and suggests that Hong could be useful too. Dane says he wants to get in touch with his family to see who would be in support of his aims, starting maybe with his male cousins, Relis and Reese. It would be useful to be able to talk to Larissa to find out who are the best family members to approach.

As Reeva tries to sleep, she starts to pick up empathic currents from the crew. In denial she starts to read manuals to distract herself. Then she tries again, this time getting a vision of a woman crying. She thinks this is her mother and she catches the words "I'm sorry Reeva, I'm so sorry". Despite all she has learned recently, her heart goes out to her Mum but she convinces herself that this is not the Force, just wishful thinking.

In a small game aside, it seems that Osnan is in trouble and that his boss suspects Larissa and tells him so.

In the morning, some more bleary eyed than others, we drop out of hyperspace and try to work out where we are. Changing direction, we decide to head for the Wheel as we need information. Reeva wants to check that Eranas is OK.

On our way there, Lisana takes a drink to Zak who is working out in the hold. He asks about her. She asks what Reeva has told him. He says not much, other than Revva cares a lot about Lisana. Lisana asks Zak about his childhood. He has had a broad mix of experiences. He says he originally believed the anti-hype about the Republic but confesses that Reina changed his views. He asks Lisana about her beginnings. She says her father was manipluative, unkind and abusive and was into organised crime. That he hurst Lisana's mum a number of times until she fled taking Lisana with her. To earn money, her mum turned to the sex trade on Coruscant. After a couple of years, her father found them, killed the guard, tortured and killed Lisana's mother and tried to take Lisana but she escaped. Zak says his far=ther could be cold & logical or pleasant, depending on his mood. Zak suggests that she has some things in common with Reeva such as bother mothers taking their children away. He goes on to say that he feels Reina must have boon more than an entertainer, maybe a spy? He had felt betrayed as nothing of their plans came about. He still doesn't understand. He didn't even know he had a daughter until she rescued him. But the message Reeva brought him from her mother suggested other than a betrayal. Lisana says he has lots of unknowns, whereas she has only certainties. Her father had previous showed remorse but then repeated those actions, so she doesn't believe that Reeva is genuinely sorry. Zak suggests that if Lisana wants future relationships, she has to see that people can be redeemed. Lisana has trouble believing that. He asks if Lisana ares enough about Reeva to help her. Lisana says she doesn't know as she can't separate Reeva's behaviour from her father's. She says she thought Reeva meant a lot to her, but now isn't sure. She needs to work it out. Zak says they want to find a way to teach Reeva as she has had no training with her Force powers. Lisana agrees this would be a good thing. They also discuss why the Empire might be interested in them. Zak thinks it might be because of him, Lisana suggests maybe Dane. Zak goes on to say that finding a Force teacher will not be easy or without risk. Lisana says they should take precautions, especially on the Wheel, because of the grey-cowled man.

We arrive at the Wheel and head for the Cantina. We get drinks and sit down to discuss who is going to do what. Dane asks Reeva if she will help him to find his two cousins, Relis & Reese. She is eager to help using her streetwise, wanting to make amends but as Dane thinks about it more, he decides he needs to work out a better strategy, maybe talk to Larissa first. Another piece of information we need is the selling value of a breeding pair of Nexu. Captain Shawah is the man we need and lo and behold, he is on Cholgana. Going back to the Hellion family problem we discuss the idea of hosting some kind of event so Dane can talk to a number of them. Or we might consider sending messages. Dane still needs to think about it as he doesn't want to bring them into danger. Zak wants to find out more about Supervisor Osnan. Who is he? A Supervisor is sort of between a Lt & a Capt, a sort of special agent with some independence. It is a recent rank and he is quite young still, fairly intelligent and has a good background. Perhaps he is being groomed, or tested? He is currently in charge of the Wanderer and we discover it is currently docked here at the Wheel. We find out where he is staying. Interesting that he is not following Krytala's trail?

Rather than stay here and be discovered, we decided to leave and head for Cholgana. Before departing Reeva scans the ship checking for tracking devices. She doesn't find any but notices that several others ships are getting ready to depart and that we could use them for cover. We take off and head for Cholgana and find Capt Shawah who is a wookie with lots of scars. He looks every inch a hunter. Lisana starts a conversation and Cho helps with the deception as we are posing as buyers for another party, asking about costs & how to transport safely. He tells us that a pair will rarely breed outside og Cholgana but are worth 20 - 30K. And we would need to feed them live prey. We buy some. Then we head for the refugees and speak to Capt Harsol. They are shifting camp. He reports they have received thetr first major supplies and that the Empire have not returned. About half the settlers want to stay, the others to return to civilisation. The kids are much better off, well fed and with good educational facilities.

Two weeks later we get to Tatooine where Vemmla is. Nyn Cablo,m a human female, used to be head of Vemmla's security before she was fired after a successful Black Sun raid, =that= Black Sun raid. She is mid 40s, a veteran of the Clone Wars and survived a few months in Vemmla's arena. We head for Ryloth to find her. Ryloth has a low Imperial presence and is a a place of extremes. Feudal society, exports slaves and real spice which can be addictive. Storms roll across the surface. Lessu is the capital but is not very technically advanced. We land and pay our fees. Folks live mostly underground, 76% of which are twilleks.

Finding an underground cantina, we go in and look around. Hong heads left for the Twillek dancer on the stage, Lisana spots another female Falleen & heads left to her for a chat, whilst Dane & Cho find a table on the right. We see someone who meets Nyn's description sprawled drunk over a table at the back. Zak and Reeva head there. Zak buys Nyn a drink on the way over and places it on the table. They start to talk but Nyn is holding a pistol on Zak under the table. Then the bar goes quiet as as 6 Glamorian thugs enter. Seems this might be a protection scam. They start throwing their weight around, intimidating the locals, demanding drinks and generally being disruptive. We are all keeping out cool until one of them approaches Reeva and demands a drink. She holds out her glass towards him, holding his gaze and then drops it as he reaches for it. A fight starts. The Glamorian grabs Reeva, not as well as he had intended but by her hair, trying to swing her around. She fires at him on stun and Zak follows suit. One of his mates wanders over to see what is happeniing. Cho interferes with him, turning on his vibro axe, strapped to his back and subtly shooting him with her needle gun. Dane fies at him too and is spotted doing so, so another Glamorian leaves the bar and whallops Dane with his axe. He takes a critical injury. Zak and Reeva finish off their two whilst Dane and Cho deal with Dane's attacker. Meanwhile Hong and Lisana working in partnership set a Glamorian against his chum, convincing both that they are stealing the other's drink. There is one other Glamorian on stage watching and working out where he might join in. However, Dane's agressor, the leader of this grumpy band has had enough. He calls his goons to order and they all leave threatening to return with reinforcements. The barman locks the doors and gives us all free drinks. We help to tidy the place up.

The talk with Nyn resumes. Zak explains what we are after, needing a safe way to reach Vemmla so Hong can pay off his debt. This debt occurred during her time with Vemmla and she remembers the incident. She suggests we move out of the bar just in case and find somewhere more private. We find a restaurant and order food, Zak paying for Nyn's meal. Nyn goes through a number of possibilities. We could break in? Tat would be ballsy. Or we could target one of her people - using bribery or pressure - but that could be expensive. She has another thought. Vemmla hosts a party after the cross dessert race which is a race for land vehicles and she has a team and vehicle. Then she asks if we are for hire. We say maybe. Apparently she lives & keeps order in a small mining town. There is a Hutt construction crew who have moved in next door, seemingly only to harass the miners & families. They source spice which also has legitimate medical uses as well as being an addictive drug. This Hutt crew are supposedly building a leisure complex but are really brawn there to intimidate. She has already been beaten up by four of them that worked her over. But she thinks that with a sufficiently bloodied nose, they might just move on. She wants us to provide the bloody nose. We say we'll take a look. There are about 8-12 of them with standard weapons.

Hong comes up with a plan of getting Krytala to create a disease to infect the troublemakers, something that the townsfolk could be made immune from. This would force the Hutt to then have to deal with the townsfolk. We all agree that the plan is too complex and would also take too long.

We hire 2 speeders and Nyn has her own. Hong flies one with Dane and Lisana aboard, whilst Reeva flies the other with Zak & Cho in it. We are en route when a shot from a blaster rifle takes ouy Nyn's speeder. She goes down. Immediately Reeva turns the speeder and heads towards where the shot came from, a small ravine with rock cover before it. Hong heads for Nyn and they try to get her aboard but she is out cold, so Lisana stays behind to apply a stimpak. Meanwhile back at the ravine, Zak leaps out of the speeder and lands in the middle of five oppoenets, attacking the leader with his vibro knife. Cho also jumps out to provide assistance attacking another one to the side of Zak. By this time Reeva has been targeted and hit twice whilst trying to control the speeder, then she gets hit again, this time critically. The leader tries to run, followed by one of his companions. Zak gets shot and Cho is hit hard, taking a critical injury. Another of their group leaps aboard Reeva's speeder. Reeva applies a stimpak to herself and shoots the guy in the speeder. However she has fallen prone and the speeder is now heading east at speed 1, parallel to the rocks, back the way we came.

Brazen Fox - Session 8

Continuation of Session 7 combat..

Cho fakes a surrender to distract her opponent and Zak takes advantage, shooting him in the head – crit! The guys start to run, leader calling out a retreat. Reeva’s opponent leaps out whilst Reeva struggles to try to stop her speeder. She fails but does manage to wrench the steering wheel out from under the brake. Hong attempts a rescue bringing his speeder alongside, locking the two so that he can try to control both. But it doesn’t quite work and now both speeders have reverted back to their original direction. Meanwhile Lisana goes over to medic and stimpak Zak. Reeva now manages to brake which separates the speeders and Reeva heads after a lone guy trying to hide. Cho goes after her suggesting they withdraw. Reeva says the man could be good for info or as a hostage. Cho takes a look but decides it is too risky and both decide to depart. Meanwhile Hong fixes up the speeders.

We head out again, Nin filling us in on some background whilst Lisana tries to medic both Cho & Reeva as they have critical injuries. Nin tells us the mining settlement is called New Meen & that Angu Drom bought the adjacent land to build a leisure facility. He is human and seems to have plenty of cash to splash around. Recently life has been more difficult for the miners with accidents, arson etc. Drom’s 12 man crew are responsible for most of these.

It is quite late when we arrive. New Meen is a shanty town. People are subdued, maybe scared & probably feel that Nin had deserted them. We decide to split up and nose around.

Zak & Cho head to scout the enemy camp, finding a cliff to climb as a good vantage point. They notice that there is a proper Cantina called Drom’s Oasis with its own parking lot & quite a few vehicles. Whilst they watch 4 guys, two humans and two Aqualish emerge all a bit drunk. They mess around on a speeder for a bit then head out for New Meen. Zak gets onto comms to warn us.

Meanwhile Hong and Reeva have gone to scout the mining operations, to see if there is something else here that might be attracting this unwanted attention but conclude that it is likely to be a shakedown for a protection racket.

Lisana and Min have gone to talk to one of the mining families – the Mishculls. They are invited in and offered stew, which they decline. This is in essence a one room shack and the wife is putting the kids to bed. Lisana introduces herself as Ilana, says she is here with friends looking for an investment. Getting them talking, she learns that some families have started to pay protection as things have escalated since Nin left. He says that Drom is behind it. ‘Ilana’ asks who is behind Drom. He doesn’t know but suggests it might be a Hutt. He explains that the miners pay tax but paying protection too could be a way of double-dipping.

It is at this point that the drunken 4 arrive, running their speeder into a twillek hut and doing damage. The twilleks emerge and the father is ready for a fight. Lisana intervenes and calms him down – just! They all head towards Nin’s hut with the twilleks and Reeva joins them as she had been covering the situation from behind the hut. Hong however stays with the 4 as he has already ingratiated himself with them making a ‘surrender monkey’ comment in the direction of the twillek, then offers to fix their speeder, damaged in the crash. They agree he can clean it for them. He convinces them that they have damaged their vehicle enough and they decide to head back to the Cantina for more drinks. Hong goes with them.

In the Cantina there are 13 guys, a mix of races. One is obviously Drom. He’s wearing a business suit and looks out of place and uncomfortable. Hong has a good look around but gains a few adverse glances and decides to stick with his 4 buddies. Drom questions Hong’s presence. Hong introduces himself as Muerta, a mechanic. Drom is not impressed and says that pets belong outside, tied up. The 4 are not impressed, they want to keep him. Drom asks why Hong is here. Hong says to mend the speeder. He and the 4 buddies high five each other. Drom is suspicious. Hong tries to blag that Drom hired him.. but through an intermediary of course. The deception works – just! He is hired on the usual rates and given a bunk.

It is at this point that the 4 confess that Nin has returned with a good looking Falleen woman though they have no idea why. Hong suggests she might be more than a friend to Nin. Drom is not happy that he is just hearing this news. Says they will sort it tomorrow. Both camps retire to sleep though we have night watches, just in case.

Morning arrives and Lisana starts to fix up the twillek hut as promised. Reeva offers to help and Zak joins in too. In the other camp Hong takes advantage of the luxury of a shower. We get together and plan.

Lisana starts the plan by addressing the miners to get them to show solidarity to one another, pointing out that they are 200 against a much smaller number. Most seem on board but a few comment that the few have machinery and weapons. Lisana reassures them.

Meanwhile we set out our ‘killing field’ and position everyone. The miners gathered around trying to look determined. Hong tells us that they are on their way. Hopefully we are ready for the next stage of the plan. The convoy of assorted vehicles and diggers arrive, Drom at the front.

Lisana calls on Drom to get down from his vehicle and surrender. He looks at the lone woman and declines. So Zak fires at him.. but misses.. though it still causes him to duck down. Making use of the distraction, Cho – looking exactly like Lisana – leaps onto the vehicle, wrenches the cab door open and hurls Drom from the cab to land at Lisana’s feet. Lisana points her gun at him and calls on his men to surrender. They do. Then Nin lays down her terms – that they can leave now with just the speeders, that they tell their bosses that New Meen is just not worth it and that they never return. Drom isn’t happy but agrees. We collect the weapons and the machinery etc and pass it over to the miners for their collective benefit.

We spend a further day with them, helping the settlement to organise better, to work together for mutual benefit. Then we head off back to Nebat.

Brazen Fox - Session 9

We get back to the ship and find that the Nexu are sick, so decide to go looking for a vet whilst Hong & Lisanna clear up. Hong then gets diverted to build a droid to better care for the Nexu. Meanwhile Reeva, Cho and Zak head into town. Reeva heads straight for a bar to ask about a vet and seemingly there is one just to hand sitting in the corner. We engage him for a ship’s visit at 3 that afternoon. Surprisingly he does not ask for any details of what the patients are. Anyway, he arrives on time and is not exactly helpful but charges us a call out fee and sells us some supplements. We suggest he keeps quiet about the nexu.

Cho tries to talk to Reeva about the force, pointing out that she passed vets but somehow went straight to the bar where there was one. Reeva says the bar is always the obvious choice for information and suggests Cho is reading more into it than there is.

Meanwhile Dane works out the navigation co-ordinates to get to Tatooine.

Zak and Nin talk, mostly about their past lives and what might lie ahead for either of them. Seems like Nin has something on her mind, but she doesn’t get around to saying it.

Cho is in her cabin staring at a red box. She opens it finding a phase knife inside, a Black Sun symbol on the lid. There is also a tracking device. She remembers how she acquired the box.

FLASHBACK..
Cho had been looking for a phase knife, putting the word out. She isn’t having much luck but then a trader says he may have a contact with one but wants to meet her in the Spiral club on the Wheel and that he would be carrying a red box. The trader then passes her a note, a poem entitled ‘The Prodigal Daughter’ which is in Carid’s handwriting. Carid is the assassin that trained Cho who, as far as she knows, is still with the Black Sun.

Cho decides that it would be prudent to ask the rest of us to tag along and explains the situation. We agree. Lisana goes out to spend money on getting herself ready and Zak also gets togged up. Reeva finds it hard to spend money on frivolous items and uses a dress she already has but Lisana adds some bling to it. Hong elects to wear very little. We head for the club. Hong manages to smuggle in a knuckle duster but wishes he hadn’t as it is almost impossible to extract. Zak attempts the bodyguard role and pulls it off, taking in a blaster rifle and has an ‘in’ with security now. Lisana, Dana and Reeva don’t attempt to take in weapons. Cho manages to smuggle in a needle gun laced with anaesthetic and also a garotte. We all go scouting. Reeva had the idea of maybe spotting a fire alarm or similar that she could trigger in an emergency but can’t see one. We gradually work the club narrowing down areas to help Cho track Carid down. We are largely successful and eventually he and Cho meet. They chat and he seems interested in the rest of us. Then he outlines a job we might do for him. Cho agrees to put it before the rest of us. He intimates that he expects her back into the fold at some point, then he leaves, and Cho re-emerges to join the rest of us.

The following morning, we have breakfast and Cho tells us more of what happened, says we made a good impression on him and outlines the job he offered. A Black Sun operative has become an embarrassment and we are to get rid of him. Turns out he is Trehees, Lisana’s father. Reeva immediately offer to do it, knowing what it means to Lisana. She asks Cho where he is and is told Tatooine. A long discussion takes place on the merits of killing Lisana’s father with or without taking money for it. Hong wants to take the money. Dane feels more than uncomfortable about doing so. Everyone else seems happy to take on the job without pay. Reeva asks if they could do it legally by placing a bounty on him? Lisana suggests that rather than money, that Cho requests that Reeva’s debt to the Black Sun is wiped out. It seems we have an agreement. Lisana requests that Cho teach her how to fight as she doesn’t want his blood on anyone else’s hands. Zak and Reeva offer to help too.

Back in the present, Cho takes the tracker to Hong to get it checked out. The tracer has an antitamper mechanism which Hong triggers during his investigation. The device is of exceptional quality and therefore is exceptionally expensive. Apparently, it will transmit location and also audio in short range, say on the Wheel.

We arrive at Tatooine, heading for Mos Ilya. Tatooine is a desert world where water is harvested from the dry air as it is precious, can be a currency or a tax.

The nexu have recovered and have grown! Maybe that vet did know his stuff? Vemmla’s palace is nearby but we need to find out what we can first as there are a number of approach avenues possible: race winner, heist, bribery, assault…

Hong and Reeva head for Vemmla’s race team to find out what they can. Once past the guards the encounter an old ‘friend’ of Hong’s, ~Karnak, who Hong tries to blag. Karnak starts to panic and calls the guards. Reeva draws her pistol to try to intimidate him into calling them off. This backfires as Karnak seems to have a heart attack as the guards rush in, disarming Reeva and seemed ready to set upon the hapless pair. Both Reeva and Hong try to help Karnak who miraculously comes around now the guards are here and he orders them from the premises. They leave but head around the side where Karnak had said the race team leader, Zaphgar was located. Reeva tries the lock first but fails. Hong then tries with the glue-gun. That doesn’t work either.

On their return other options are considered. But we still need information. Hong suggests that Lisana might infiltrate the palace staff. Reeva suggests Lisana might be able to get hired as an entertainer for the after-Race party. We intend to check out these ideas.

Brazen Fox - Session 10

We all assemble on the ship to plan our next move. Nin provides maps of Mos ilia and Vemmla’s palace, including her quarters and swamparium. These are underground and include the museum where Zak was held. Nin tells us what she knows. Vemmla’s key staff: Major Domo is Losa Parry, a human female in her 40’s; Arena Master Sivor, Geonosian male, who has been around a while, a cleanliness fanatic, likes order, sarcastic, abusive, little respect for underlings; Race Master is Zethgar; and a bounty hunter Trex who is a Trandoshan. The race has 3 major teams and there are 4 top prizes. It is expected the major teams get one each and everyone else competes for the remaining prize.

We discuss possible plans to get the nexu to Vemmla including building desire in Sivor for nexu, spreading rumours that Jabba desires nexu thereby increasing their value in Vemmla’s eyes. The important thing is getting to the party and having an exit strategy and we need more information on the race, the palace, comms, security to work out our angles.

Zak and Reevs target Trex, the bounty hunter, going to the cantina and making contact with a fixer, exbounty hunter, called Tans. He tells them Trex has been out of town off world recently to oust tenants? Supposedly this was on Ryloth and Genossa? Sounds like Vemmla might be after spice at least from Ryloth.

Dane and Hong go to find out more about the race. Looking for a team, ideally one with a bad driver, they find a local team, Red Cliffs, down on their luck. They also seek information on anyone trying to influence the race. Vemmla really wants to win. Jabba is also competing but Vemmla wants him to fail to win a prize which means he can’t attend the party. There is paranoia. Drivers are escorted, cars guarded etc. The cars are either wheeled, tracked or leg based. The terrain varies, longer routes are generally safer, shorter routes more hazardous.

Lisanna and Chohead for the cantina to find out more about the party and the possibility of Lisana being an entertainer. She dresses accordingly and Cho poses as her older twi’ek manager, suggesting to the barman that he might like to offer Lisana a spot in the bar. He says he cannot afford her level. He directs them to Tam also. Vemmla may well be looking for entertainment for her after race party. Kalarin, a twi’lek, is Losa Parry’s right hand man at the Admin Office. Tam supplies a ‘jump the queue’ introduction to him. As Lisana & Cho leave, 3 down and outs leave by a side door but turn to follow the pair. In addition a cloaked figure, something insectlike about him, also follows. He is overconfident, sure he has not been spotted. Cho challenges the 3, the older twi’lek offering to fight the best of them but they all wade in. Cho makes short work of landing debilitating blows on two of them and they leave smartish helped by their colleague. Cho & Lisana continue on their route to the Admin Office but engineer a situation to confront the cloaked guy who was still following having stood back and watched the fight. Cho grabs him, holding him up by the throat. He is not happy and insists on being put down, adding that he works for Vemmla but won’t give his name. He goes and Cho & Lisanna arrive at the office. Kalarin wants a private performance that Lisana agrees to.

Meanwhile Zak and Reeva meet Trex at a bounty hunter bar. He is in a good mood and drinking heavily. He responds to conversation and says that the party is more than a race celebration as arms dealers will be attending. Vemmla wants to meet & greet so that she can market her spice.

Dane & Hong also learn from bookies that Vemmla has a spy in place to keep an eye on race sabotage.

Lisana meets Kalarin and over dinner he lets slip that Losa is ex ISB (Imperial Security Bureau) and as well as Major Domo she is also Vemmla’s security chief. Lisana realises that Kalarin may know her father and she is desperate to find his whereabouts etc and so is more receptive to Kalarin that she would normally be. It does provide a bonus in that he invites her to the party as his +1. He also reveals that Losa is into weird sex stuff.

Earlier: Zak goes to find Reeva who said she wanted a chat. They have a heart to heart and talk about the Dane incident. Reeva says she cannot cope, that she is not sleeping, having waking visions at night. They discuss what can be done, Reeva reluctantly agreeing that she needs a teacher. Zak suggests that maybe Cho can help, at least providing lessons on meditation to help Reeva get back on an even keel. He goes to fetch her and she agrees to teach Reeva what she can. She warns that it will take time and that depends on how well Reeva applies herself. She says she will try.

We learn that Lisana has an invite to the party but that doesn’t get the rest of us in, so we decide to try the race angle. Hong fixes up the race car which is in a bit of a state but he does end up with a vehicle that has both legs and wheels. Hopefully that will give us an advantage. He registers as Muerta the engineer & co-driver, Dane as Swede the pilot. Reeva offers to go as gunner and in an emergency a third pilot. If they win, others can attend as +1s.

The race starts. The first stage is driven by Muerta. He uses wheels over the sands and we are lying fourth at the end of stage 1. Stage 2 Swede takes over as pilot. This stage is crags and canyons and best suited to legs as it allows the car to climb and thereby take the shortest route. Reeva also has to participate here to scare off the Tusken Raiders. By the end of stage 2 we are in first place. Another independent is second, Jabba and the Off Worlder are third, Vemmla behind them.

Stage 3, still driven by Swede, is on the salt flats and we push hard. Meanwhile the rest of the Brazen Fox crew do what they can to try to jinx Jabba, triggering prelaid traps. By the end of the stage we are still in the lead and win the race!! The other independent has stayed in second place. More importantly Vemmla is in third place, the Out Worlder fourth and Jabba fifth, out of the party invite criteria!

Apparently we are celebrities as independents never win. The press are all over us. Reeve deflects them towards Muerta and Swede claiming she was only hired security. There is likely to be some fallout from this. Hope we haven’t overcooked it..

Brazen Fox - Session 11

We start to make our way into Vemmla’s party, no idea where or who Cho is. Lisana is with Kalaran, the rest of us are race team and security. Losa has a sizing up with Lisana on the way in. Also she seems to recognise Zak and calls him Colonel. He denies the rank and she seems to be confused and apologies, stating a mistaken identity.

Lisana and Kalaran circulate and he introduces her to various guests, more showing her off really. Then they come face to face with her father! There are two others with him, a Wookie, maybe a bodyguard? And a girl, makeup covering bruises. She is about 15 and he introduces her as Lisana’s sister. He says that he and Lisana need to speak privately.

Reeva is finding it tough going in the party, too many minds and emotions but she tries to embrace Cho’s teaching, treating it as eavesdropping rather than something she has to block. It is not easy. She tells Zak she is struggling, also trying to be more open about her issues. He suggests she might go check on the nexu from time to time to get a bit of relief. She agrees it is a good idea. Meanwhile Zak points out a female that all his instincts tell him is dangerous. Reeva says she’ll keep an eye out.

Dane is living his winner status and is already partying with some Twillek girls and Hong has joined in the dancing on stage. Both have consumed a lot of alcohol.

Before any of these scenes progress further, Vemmla arrives at the party and starts to make awards to the winners. 4th place couple gain a contract to supply Vemmla. Her own 3rd place team get their just deserts with Zephgar having been beaten up and offered a choice between daily torture or a dual in the arena against Seevor. He chooses the latter. The second-place team, a group of drunk Jowas, seem happy just with the party, alcohol and kudos. Hong and Dane are then presented by Vemmla calls for the Kid to be included and Reeva moves forward to join them. We get our 30K.

Hong takes his opportunity and presents Vemmla with the Nexu. She is delighted and asks that Hong joins her team for next year’s race. She then asks if anyone else has a petition or a gift to present. Lisana’s father steps forward and presents the ‘leader of the Black Sun team’ that broke into Vemmla’s palace some months before. Reeva fades into the background. However Lisana’s father only mentions men and that the rest of the team are dead as far as he knows.

Zak steps in to escort the nexu down below and notes where the Black Sun operative was taken, one of the holding cells. The lights dim. The fight is due to start. Lights come back on centred on the arena.

Reeva is aware that Lisana is very upset and heads in her direction but is intercepted by Cho who says she is fine. At this exact moment, the dangerous woman that Zak had been concerned about earlier, steps up behind Lisana with a blade and orders her to move with her, saying she will kill her if not. Lisana has Cho’s needlegun in her purse but no easy way to get at it. She does the only thing she feels she can and mentally yells out to Reeva for help. Reeva hears her and the call knocks her for six. She looks at Cho saying that Lisana is in danger and that Cho should go save her. Reeva tells Cho where she is. In the hope that her cry has been heard, Lisana plays for time, saying that if she needs to move quickly, she needs to lose her shoes, the woman is impatient urging her on but Lisana takes off her shoes using the manoeuvre to drop her purse with the needlegun in the hope Cho can recover it but at least that it might be a clue to the direction she was taken.
The door they are heading for is the one that Zak is just coming back through. Cho has spotted the back, retrieved the gun and in servant guise is moving towards the pair with an ‘excuse me but you dropped your bag?’ Reeva has also managed to find her feet and is rushing to Lisana’s aid. Hong and Dane are still partying, oblivious to the drama unfolding not far away. Maru, Lisana’s captor, shoots at Cho but misses. Zak drawn his vibro blade and moves to attack her but she spins Lisana around who gets stabbed instead. Reeva arrives, kicking the door closed behind them so they are not in view of the party where the attention is on the fight anyway. She shoots Maru but misses. Maru then attacks Cho again but fails to hit. Zak goes into bodyguard mode and again attacks Maru with his knife. She is hit! Reeva shoots Maru and hits and Cho follows suit. Maru goes down, Zak and Cho moving on to capture her. Reeva drops down beside Lisana and apply a stimpak, then holds Lisana asking if she is OK. She confirms that she heard Lisana’s call for help. Meanwhile Cho and Zak come up with a plan and Cho wipes Maru’s recent memories of her and then goes to fetch Kalaran. We explain that his social partner had been attacked by Maru who seemed to be kidnapping her. Zak and Reeva say they were lucky that they spotted something happening and stepped in.

Lisana says she wants to go home, Cho (the servant) offer to accompany her. Kalaran orders a vehicle and they head for the ship., then Cho heads back as she and Zak have agreed that the Black Sun guy must be disposed of before interrogation. We are still supposed to be meeting Vemmla but Zak persuades Kalaran that several of the group are not in a fit state. He agrees and plans to reschedule for the following day. Zak tries to find out from Kalaran who Maru is as the guy seems to know of her. But Kalaran isn’t forthcoming so Zak heads downstairs to look around. He finds Seevor and asks for a tour. Seevor obliges and they discuss the fight as they walk. Apparently Zephgar took his own life to end it quickly. He also learns that Vemmla is questioning Maru. The prison area holding the Black Sun guy is manned by 2 Glamorians guards. Seevor also questions Zak about Maru’s wounds as something there concerns him. Zak shows Seevor his blade and feigns innocence of anything else. The arena master seems to accept it for now. They part.

Then a plan is put together. Reeva and Zak plan to return to the rest of the team and create a public alibi whilst Cho shapeshifts to Kalaran to head below and deal with the Black Sun guy. Reeva joins the party but declines to take part in Hong’s public knife throwing display. Dane has yet to stop partying. Zak spots Losa on the prowl and moves to intercept with the words ‘so you know my brother then?’ This is discussed. Further diversion is provided by Zak fessing up to being a wall decoration here in the palace.

Meanwhile Kalaran/Cho makes contact with the Glamorians and persuades them that he was never here. She then goes into the cell and finds the Black Sun guy is a poor state., offers an easy way out. The guy reckons what he knows will buy him a trade as he knows who hired him. At his point Cho shoots him and places the vibroknife in his hand so it looks like he slit his own throat. Of course the presence of the knife will raise questions.

We get back to the ship safely and the following day head out to meet Vemmla. After some discussion we all go, apart from Nin as we figure she probably knows we are one group and she dis request ‘everyone’. Looks like she was expecting us too. She chats to Hong. He seems to be well in and she considers him cheeky but it amuses her. She also identifies Zak and we are all invited to accompany her to the museum. Zak’s pedestal is still there but she agrees that he is better ‘in the flesh’ and she offers him the job of Head of Security. He says he has other commitments but would give it some consideration, saying it was an honour to be asked. Zak suggests that maybe she has other uses for us. Vemmla is concerned about Maru’s situation and something else. She questions Zak about the Maru incident and then asks Lisana why Maru pulled a gun on her. Lisana says she doesn’t know her nor has any idea why.

Vemmla then confesses that she has a spy in her organisation but needs some battle droids from the Clone wars picking up from Geonosia. She asks if we could do that. Hong bargains for some shipyard time in exchange. Vemmla then says she needs some mud as her skin is itchy and asks Zak to join her saying that Losa would brief us on the job.

Brazen Fox - Session 12

Works starts on the cyber arm tool – 7 successes reduces time to 3 hours and gives 6 advantages – 3 on safety feature for automatic advantage and 3 on boost dice. This takes place in the hold of the Brazen Fox and those with hangovers from last night’s party are suffering!

We get together later to discuss next steps. Treeheese is Lisana’s number 1 priority – or at least her sister is! We talk over the possibilities agreeing we need more info before going after him and are not sure where we could get it from. Doing the job for Vemmla could give us that? Then Dane pipes up saying he needs our help as his family are being taken out by the Empire so that they can keep a tighter control on the rest who are working for them. Dane is worried about who might be next. Maybe Vemmla can help there too? Then we hear that Vemmla has summoned Cho. She heads off for the meeting.

Vemmla is admiring her collection. Cho has spotted items of interest, a lightsabre that looked like her old boss’s and a few Jedi relics. She tries to conceal her interest. Vemmla says that Cho can help her with a problem and asks if Cho was once employed by the Black Sun? Cho says she can’t deny it. Vemmla then asks about the operative downstairs. She asks Cho what she did for the Black Sun. Cho says it wasn’t far off murder. Vemmla wants to know what the Black Sun are likely to do now the guy is dead. Seems to be concerned that the Black Sun had sent an assassin after her. Cho mentions that Treeheese is not in their favour. Vemmla admits to an interest in the Clone Wars period of history. She wants Cho to acquire something on Geonosis without the rest of us knowing. It is in the research facility CX71. It is ‘fragile’ and Cho should take care not to ‘set it off’! Cho asks about safety protocols. Vemmla says there aren’t any. The package is about the size of a shoebox, tricky but doable. Cho agrees.

In the meantime Dane seeks our Reeva finding her practicing her mental exercises in the hold. He says he should have talked to her before now. Reeva says that she probably wouldn’t have been ready, needing to resolve her own issues. He asks if she is willing to help with his family as going against the Empire is a big deal. She says she owes him and that his family had helped them before, like his cousin did when they were with the settlers. Reeva says she has been trying to gain more control and discipline. And then asks Dane if he has any questions and also if he wants all her help or just some of it. He says that the powers are a part of her and will accept all the help she can give. He also mentions Zak’s ‘forgotten’ knowledge of Dane’s past and suggests, if Zak is willing, that Reeva might be able to help.

Later they all get back together and start to discuss Geonosis where the Death Star was built and where, to ensure its secrets, they wiped out the indigenous population. Also droid prototypes were worked on there and the Empire have banned anyone from visiting the planet. Vemmla wants any plans for the droid plus any complete or part assembled droids. Cho cautioned us that we might want to consider ion blasters if we are going up against droids and several people get one. Reeva opts to use her blasters on stun as she struggles enough to carry all her kit as it is.

Before they leave Reeva contacts the bounty hunter contingent to subtly find out more about Treeheese, particularly his whereabouts, which can be ongoing whilst they are away.

We set off for Geonosis but haven’t even left the system before we are challenged by another ship. Treeheese orders us to heave to and be boarded. We try to get away but don’t quite manage it. Their ship is not in range so Reeva and Lisana stand ready to fire. Lisana opens comms and asks what he wants. He says her. She says they need to talk. Meanwhile Hong tries an evasive manoeuvre. Cho tries to find out more about the ship using the sensors but again they are not in range. Dane does damage control and then 2 missiles hit as we jump to hyperspace. Our ship takes 7 damage.

Flight time to Geonosis is about 4 hours.

Reeva seeks out Zak and the two have a frank discussion about Reina, both confessing they have mixed feelings and need to understand what she did and why.

Lisana seeks out Cho. She asks about her mental call to Reeva after Maru had captured her. She wants to understand how the Force works. She is concerned about Reeva and the rest of them.

Hong goes to work on Zak’s new cyber arm. He constructs it is 18 less, taking only 30. The 9 advantages he spends as 3 – easy to install, 3 on a tool and 3 on a weapon. Also the arm adds +1 to brawn.

We exit hyperspace and get Empire warning that it is a quarantine zone and we should leave immediately. We don’t. Ahead of us is a debris field in a ring along with scanners. Dane plots a way through it all. We move down to land but there are electrical storms on the surface, along with 3 light cruisers. Hong has to use the scanner as the ground is softer than we thought. Reeva tries to use her force powers to locate the research facility. However she detects a taint and would have to use the dark side. She resists. So we split into pairs: Reeva and Dane, Zak and Hong, Lisana and Cho to search. Zak & Hong don’t find anything but Dane and Reeva find a landing platform. Must be here for a reason, right? Then Reeva spots a patrol of 4 range troopers. She activates comms. “4 enemies, engaging” before diving for cover and opening fire. She misses but manages to disable their comms. Dane then opens fire and takes out 3! Reeva takes out the last one but uses a triumph to keep him alive. We move the ship to the landing pad and use the camo nets. Also question the prisoner who confirms he was part of a training patrol out for 2 days. They were dropped here. Unsure what to do with him now, Lisana makes the decision and shoots him. Reeva is shocked.

We don’t want to waste time and head for the door and keypad at the back of the landing pad. The facility has power. Reeva tries to bypass security but fails, eventually opening the door. A corridor leads down to a junction, we turn right, then another where we turn left following the lit area, another junction, another left, then another security door. Reeva opens that into a recreation area with another security door to the right. Reeva opens that too. The next corridor leads down to a cavern area. Big blast doors to the left and a windowed facility (control room) almost in the centre, with labs off from it. Ahead of us is the body of a Jedi with others around him. They seem to have been fighting a defensive retreat, all dead from blaster wounds. We enter the control room and find dead bodies still at their computer stations. One has a light sabre through him. Reeve leaves the room to go back out, taking cover behind the facility, aiming at the door we entered by. Hong goes to work on a terminal. He fires it up and an alarm sounds!

Brazen Fox - Session 13

Zak is thinking about the fight outside the control room, trying to work out what might have happened. He believes that it occurred a couple of years after the Clone Wars. Al the combatants had been killed by blaster fire and there was evidence that the Jedi had been deflecting what he could in defence of the others. The blaster fire likely came from B2 battle droids. He shares this information with the rest of us.

Flashback: Lisana had negotiated this contract with Vemmla. She managed to increase the price offered for droids and specs and to gain 2 future favours.

The alarm is still sounding when 8 B1 droids come in through the door in the opposite corner, to the right of the one we came in by. Zak runs in to a column nearest to them and opens fire. Reeva, already outside, runs in to stand with her father and also opens fire, as does Dane. Dane then gets hit with 3P wounds. Already feeling the pressure, eight more droids enter the room following the others, 4 B2s then 4 B1s. Zak opens fire again, this time on the B2s. Reeva does the same and then slips into cover. Dane also gets undercover and applies a stimpak before opening fire on the remaining B1s. Cho arrives on the scene and between them they finish off the first group of B1s. One B2 remains and advances on Reeva, opening fire but missing. The 4 B1s advance on Cho, firing and manage to disarm her.

At this point another group arrive, two droideka backed up by another 4 B1s. Zak orders us to get out of there. Reeva runs to the door behind them, away from the droids and manages to open the door with some difficulty. Zak opens fire on the nearby B1s as he doesn’t believe he can take out a droideka. He prepares to exit having taken out the remains of the group bar one which staggers into a droideka. Lisana (Cho) activates her force powers and starts to exit the control room having retrieved her item and the specs that Hong had downloaded. The pile of crates to her right start to move and an R5 unit emerges. Dane suddenly finds himself on his own, badly injured. He fires at a droideka and then runs for the door. Cho retrieves her weapon and joins Zak at the pillar, Hong does also. The droideka move in, one opening fire on the fleeing Dane, taking him out, whilst the other takes out the pillar shielding Zak, Hong and Cho. Hong gets hit as the next group of B1s move up behind the droideka. More B1s and B2s enter the room. The R5 unit panics and rushes out of the room with us.

Hong steps forward and throws an ion grenade at the 2 droideka also hoping to catch some of the B1s. Then he and Cho run for the doors. Lisana (Cho) also makes it out. Cho stimpaks Dane, his second, bringing him to whilst Reeva runs ahead to see if she needs to open more doors. Aware of the dire situation and likely pursuit, she calls upon the force to guide her to a way out. The Force answers. ‘Go left’. Relieved and feeling that her answer reaffirms her new direction in life, she continues forward arriving at a crossroads. She uses comms to tell the others left. Ahead of her at the crossroads in a blast door with a huge hole in it, the blast having come from the other side. There are rows upon rows of droids moving to the left but she is not seen. She takes a left instead and keeps forward. She then warns the others about the other droids. Dane has started ahead in Reeva’s footsteps whilst Zak is the last to exit the room with the control room and starts to manually close the blast door behind them, at least delaying pursuit from this direction.

Everyone moves rapidly along the corridor, Zak pausing briefly at a group of bounty hunters that look to have been killed a fortnight or so before. He confirms that they had been working for Vemmla.

Reeva finds another door and she opens it, her glance taking in a red ship, another ship which looks Jedi and then her eyes light on the emerging crew from the red ship, Treehees amongst them. She tries to stealth but Treehees spots her. However, most of the crew’s attention is on the droids advancing from Reeva’s right, the same ones she had spotted ahead at the crossroads. So this is where they had been going. The others arrive. Treehees calls out to Lisana to get on the ship. Reeva’s glance back shows TWO Cho’s. One talks to the other in Lisana’s voice and the other one tells Treehees that Lisana has been left behind. He is not convinced and instead thinks that this is Lisana and he calls a couple of reinforcements from the ship. We decide that discretion is the better part of valour and jump on a skiff, heading out of there rapidly. We reach the ship safely and get aboard, having disabled and stashed two droids on guard. Whilst the real Lisana takes Dane to medbay to heal his critical injuries, the rest of us man our positions whilst Hong takes us rapidly off planet.

However, even that has its complications as we encounter 8 tie fighters and an Imperial light cruiser. Hong heads for the asteroid field. Dane makes it back to the bridge and Reeva and Cho man the turrets and Zak does damage control. We open fires, Cho interferes with the tie fighters aim whilst Reeva takes one out and damages another. Then our ship takes a hit, 4 damage! We are all disorientated. Zak at damage control helps gunnery. Dane pilots through the asteroid field, 6 successes and 3 threats. The puts a strain on Dane and the ship. Both Cho and Reeva fire. Reeva take out another tie fighter. We manage to navigate out of the debris field and jump to hyperspace in record time. We breathe a collective sigh of relief and open the bar.

Hong tries to interrogate the R5 unit and we also examine what we managed to download and bring out, droids, specs and some cybernetics. Cho also takes a look at the light sabre she had salvaged. We get back to Tatooine and rest up as it is late. All wounds and crits are now healed!!

The following morning, we all head in to see Vemmla, Lisana reluctantly. We pass over 1 droid and the specs, gaining 24K. Vemmla is pleased. Zak mentions the other group we found dead. Vemmla seems unconcerned but admits they were hers. She then asks Cho is she had done the ‘other’ job. Cho says she has. This is news to us, and we watch as Vemmla takes Cho aside. What is going on? We all look at each other. Then from the direction that Vemmla and Cho had gone, Treehees reappears! He makes a visible effort not to confront Lisana. Reeva steps in front of her. But Lisana gets a drink and moves to intercept him. Reeva follows Lisana, Zak follows them both.

Treehees expects Lisana to return to him because she is family. Reeva says she has a new family now. Treehees calls Reeva a stupid little girl and warns her not to interfere. He warns her not to make an enemy of him. She stands her ground. He repeats to Lisana that he wants her back. She says it can wait but he doesn’t think so. He asks why she won’t return. She says because he was abusive and cruel. He leaves.

Losa runs into Vemmla returning a moment later and telling us to hide as the Empire are here. We jump into the bar area and hide. Moments later, Darth Vader and a group of stormtroopers arrive to talk to Vemmla. Both Reeva and Cho feel the dark power of his presence as he passed causing a shudder in their souls.

Vader warns Vemmla away from Geonosis in no uncertain terms and then strides out. Vemmla loses her cool and yells for everyone to get out, saying that she said ‘no imperial involvement’!

We think this is a good time to get out and head back to the ship. We settle down for a frank discussion but Lisana absents herself because she is too angry at Cho. Reeva asks Cho directly what all that with Vemmla was? Cho explained what Vemmla had asked her to do and answered Reeva’s next question by admitting that Vemmla would have known if she had told us. Reeva asked what Cho’s payment had been. Cho answered the lightsabre of her old mentor who had been a mother to her. It was the only thing left of her. Reeva nods, accepting the compulsion that must have been. We talk about Vemmla, Treehees and the convoluted mess we are in, adding that Vemmla definitely is trying to drive a wedge between us. Reeva also explains how angry Lisana is and that somehow we need to find a way to rebuild trust between us all. Zak adds that he trusts us all. Where do we go from here?

About an hour later we get a call on comms, a mayday from The Wanderer, Larissa’s ship. It is plummeting down towards the planet…

Brazen Fox - Session 15

“Wanderer going down! We’re launching!”

Dane cry has us all scrambling to action stations, some to the bridge others to turrets. He works like a mad man and we launch at speed getting to the crash site quickly. Fortunately, there are no Empire ships around. Smoke marks the crash site with a canyon. Cho has yet to arrive at the sensor station so Zak does what he can without learning much. Cho arrives & takes over. By this time Jowas have arrived and we look for somewhere to land. Dane shows his ace pilot skills and despite the terrain, sets the Brazen Fox down, right next to the Wanderer. Zak takes control and starts to issue orders for leaving the ship so we are prepared for what might be facing us. The Wanderer looks badly damaged. The front has crumpled in, bath wings ripped off and the rest of it doesn’t look in good condition.

Lisana is first out of the ship with her med kit, she heads straight for the large hole in the Wanderer’s side, figuring it will be the quickest way in. Zak backs her up. Dane and Cho are not far behind, Reeva at the rear having run from the turret. Lisana and Zak head left, each taking one side of the corridor and start checking doors. As Cho and Dane arrive, they follow their example but in the other direction. Doors are opened, as folks call out Larissa’s name, hoping she will respond, and looking for anyone else who might be alive.

As Reeva arrives, she decides to try to sense Larissa to get a direction. She uses turmoil as she figures she still owes Dane big time and this is his cousin. She immediately senses to go through a door beyond Lisana and Zak and calls out that she has found her, going past them, and opening that door. Beyond is a corridor with several cells, Larissa is lying prone in one of them. Looks like she has been knocked out in the collision, hopefully nothing worse. Obviously, the cell door is locked. Reeva tries to open it but fails. Instead Lisana shoots the lock open and notices that Larissa starts to come around. Lisana says “We’re with Dane, come with us. Can you walk?” Larissa nods and we move out.

Dane and Cho open one of their doors, Dane at the front, and face 3 stormtroopers. Cho uses her force powers to send a crate crashing into them. As she is behind Dane, he doesn’t see her hand movement and is startled by the inexplicable movement of the crate but instinctively fires on the third stormtrooper and takes him down. At this point Osman and another stormtrooper come around the corner and Osnan shoots Cho. Hearing blaster fire, Lisana takes off running through the door and heading right towards the firing, unknowingly she is going to come up behind Osnan.

Zak leaves the ship as Hong tells everyone there are incoming Tuskan Raiders. He runs to the Brazen Fox to grab more suitable weapons to help Hong defend the ship. They fire at the Raiders, holding them back.

Reeva would have followed Lisana, but Larissa says that they need to get Osnan’s orders from the comms room as something had dramatically changed recently and she was thrown into a cell without explanation or cause. Reeva is torn, follow Lisana or help Larissa. Her debt to Dane surfaces again and she asks Larissa to show her where the comms room is. It is not far, just to the left where Lisana went right. The room is unoccupied, but the device is missing, probably taken by Osnan. They leave and try to catch up with Lisana whilst relaying the info about the device on comms.

Meanwhile Cho moves to tackle Osnan. She grabs him and throws him against the wall. Dane shoots the stormtrooper. Osnan does not have the device. Zak orders everyone off the ship, calling to forget the device but bring Osnan. Cho tackles Osnan again and needle-guns him. He is out for the count.

Reeva and Larissa change direction and head for the exit, as does Lisana re-joining them. Larissa is faster and makes the ramp to the Brazen Fox. Reeva and Lisana are now at the hole in the Wanderer. Reeva opens fire and takes out 2 raiders. Zak and Hong also fire from our ship, hitting more and then manage to partially block the canyon exit, pinning them down. Zak suggests that Hong warms up the engines ready for a speedy departure. Dane runs for the ship, followed by Cho with Osnan over her shoulder. Lisana goes next with Reeva bringing up the rear. Everyone heads for action stations whilst Zak stays on the ramp to defend the ship whilst everyone gets aboard.

Dane takes off at speed, fortunately Zak manages to hang on and get the ramp closed. Hong gets on sensors as Larissa has taken the co-pilot’s seat. As expected the Empire have turned up and we have a destroyer and TIE fighters to deal with. We decide to leg it smartish. Larissa suggests jumping to D’Qar. Dane plots a course. Reeva opens fire from her turret. She takes out one TIE fighter and diverts another. As Cho has her hands full with Osnan, Zak heads for the other turret and takes out another TIE fighter. Two more fighters head in calling on the destroyer for assistance, for a tractor beam to apprehend us but we manage to jump just in time!

Once in hyperspace we congregate in the rec room and partake of various refreshments. Cho is now displaying force powers openly. Larissa is with us but looking very shaky. She explained that she was considering joining the family for Life Day but in making the request to Osnan he reacted badly to the Life Day reference despite getting on well previously. Cho asks if Osnan liked Larissa. She says she thinks so as he had been lenient before. Then he received new orders and he became cold. They had an argument about Life Day and he imprisoned her in a cell. She had been getting a little paranoid before being imprisoned and tried to booby trap the ship’s engines if anyone else tried to fly the ship. It worked far more than she had intended, causing the ship to crash. Previously they had been following up all the false leads that Cho had created to safeguard Krytala but then got word from an Imperial informant that the Brazen Fox had arrived on Tatooine and so diverted to intercept us. Dane confesses he had been intending to skip Life Day with the family as he had on other occasions. Questioning Larissa further we manage to piece together that Muerto, head of ISB, might be behind Osnan targeting us and Zak confesses that Muerto is his younger brother. Reeva asks if this is personal against Zak or targeted at the rest of them. Zak doesn’t know but wonders if he should make contact.

Larissa expresses concern about us and our attitude, particularly regarding the Empire. Reeva asks how Larissa feels about the Empire and she responds that she considers them a benevolent force. Zak then questions Dane as to why Larissa knows nothing about what has happened to the Hellion family and he and Reeva try to explain to Larissa what the Empire are up to and how she might be regarded having crashed the ship. By this time, she is confused and in tears. Hong escorts her to guest quarters and Dane follows, trying to offer comfort and reassurance. The rest of us are concerned about her fate now.

Notes:

1. There is a scene where Lisana confronts Cho about her force powers and essentially about her keeping it under wraps, even allowing Reeva to take the flak in the past. Cho tries to explain and says she is sick of hiding it. Lisana is angry and says she cannot trust her anymore, feeling betrayed because she had thought they had achieved a trusted friendship. She questions Cho’s secret job for Vemmla. Cho explains that she gave into a big temptation because she wanted that lightsabre that had belonged to the closest thing that Cho had in a mother. Lisana accuses her of colluding with Treehees. Cho denies this. Lisana cannot accept her word. Both stalk away angry.
2. Bonds are discussed between Zak & Lisana (random card draw). Zak wants respect & trust from Lisana and is worried than his giving of orders might remind her too much of her father. He also doesn’t know if he can rely on her because of her attitude to Reeva. He feels Lisana needs a good role model. Lisana doesn’t know if Zak knew about Cho’s secret job for Vemmla. Lisana has some sexual attraction for Zak. This may be because his role makes him a father figure for her. It may also be a ‘get at’ Cho motivation.
3. Bonds are discussed between Hong & Reeva (random card draw). Reeva feels more benevolent to Hong than she used to. He doesn’t believe in her force powers but he does seem to look out for her and offer advice. In a small way he has become a mentor. Hong is concerned about Reeva, wants her to do well and to be safe. He is beginning to feel like a father figure and in some ways is exploring the relationship he never had with his father as Dug’s do things differently. He doesn’t feel she gets enough guidance from Zak.

Brazen Fox - Session 16

Enarc for ship repairs – hyperdrive upgrade cost 7400 for .5 upgrade. Get supplies for hull repairs.

Cho & Dane bond discussion – what does Dane want from Cho that she would not give? Dane asks after her. She is not being very communicative. Dane brings up the use of the Force. Cho admits it and confirms that she is along with Reeva. Dane feels that he is not sure he knows Cho anymore. He wants her to be more open. Cho admits to using the force on the Stormtroopers. She says she was raised by Jedi who are all dead & she feels she has a big target on her back. Cho says that her ‘mother’ did not die defending her as she had thought. Cho has worked out that her mother must have killed a lot of people. She gives him the light sabre to hold to see if he can sense the anger in it. Dane says it feels uncomfortable, but he does not understand why. Cho feels that everyone will fail you eventually. She is feeling disillusioned. If she had not been a scared child at the time, she might have attacked those who destroyed her way of life. But she must live with it.

Dane wants to give Cho peace, but Cho does not feel she deserves it. Also, Cho does not want to let her guard down. She needs to stay strong to save those she cares for.

Cho wants Dane from joining her in the real world and gets his hands dirty, to get off his moral high ground.

Dane spends time in the cockpit, disturbed by Cho, Osnan’s presence, Larissa etc
Reeva is doing mental exercises in the hold
Osnan is in the hold in the nexu cage.
Lisana is making shopping lists in rec room
Hong is in his hammock having a mid-morning nap, near the engines.
Zak is in the hold ready for brawl practice with Reeva.
Cho is in her room cleaning the light sabre.

Suddenly our ship falls out of hyperspace. Different people in different positions react. Lisana fares worse, taking extra strain from a fall.

Dane gets the first initiative. He accesses sensors. Sensors are scrambled. He calls for help in the cockpit “Hong”. Hong must untangle himself from the hammock. He fails. Cho is next. And activates force to find out what is going on. Cho sees a vision of stormtroopers running amok, killing in a festival setting. She can smell burning flesh. She also gets a feeling of someone on the ship feeling trapped, desperate for escape. Cho heads for the escape pod. She sees the R5 unit being attacked by the dumdum droids, in fear of its life. Cho calls for Hong to get to the Escape Pod. Next is Zak. He runs to the cockpit. Reeva grabs her rifle & heads for her turret. Lisana is looking for Larissa and heads for cabin 15 and finds Larissa inside. She seems a bit woozy. Lisana guides her to the bridge.

Next round, Dane tries sensors again... and fails again! They are just not responding. Hong is called urgently to the bridge to fix sensors. He asks Dane what he can see. Space is the answer. He then asks the kid if she is in the turret and what she can see. Space is the answer. Lisana continues to guide Larissa onto the bridge. Cho force hits two of the droids to turn them off. The other one takes one look at Cho and turns itself off. The R5 beeps at Cho in relief but Seems intent in harming the dumdum droids. Cho warns it off.

Panic over, back into hyperspace.

Scene from the previous evening:
Cho is still working off some of the anger and ends up in their room. Zak meets up with her. Cho heads into the cabin. Zak follows, questions her state of mind, wants to know what is up with her, gives her a hug. Zak says that others are concerned because of her deal with Vemmla, which involved Treehees. Cho understands that. She explains about Nayim’s light sabre and why she is so upset. The crystal in this light sabre is corrupted which means that Nayim was too. Zak tries to sympathise and rationalise. Cho is not so receptive. Zak says a step at a time. Cho wants details. Zak says that his first step is to find out what Reeva can find out about Dane’s suspicions. Cho does not think that will end well.

Ross suggests we need to talk to Osnan. He has been fed and watered and given him some clothing as Cho has purloined his uniform. Zak & Lisana agree to do a double interrogation, good cop, bad cop. Despite his lack of uniform, he still has superior bearing and confidence. He looks up as Lisana brings his lunch.

Lisana apologises that breakfast was missed as we had a slight emergency. Lisana is charming, Osnan is cool. She asks where he was going when on the Wayfarer. He gives his rank, name & number. And then refuses to say more. Lisana tries charm. Eventually he tries to respond, saying that ISB will notice his absence and will be along shortly to rescue him. They banter a little, each trying for the upper hand. They discuss food. He makes statements about us and the ship and Lisana says most of it is subterfuge. Lisana brings up Larissa and Osnan does seem a little concerned and he was worried that she might go AWOL. So, he locked her up. Which he does now regret. She asks about his orders. He asks how she knows. She says that they have equipment from the ship. This is a deception. No successes but advantages. He refuses to discuss the orders.

We come up with an alternative plan, that Reeva will try to read him as Zak questions him. She says she will if everyone is OK that she tries this. She asks Dane specifically. He says yes. Cho says she had a vision of stormtroopers at Life Day. They clarify the sequence of events with Larissa. Reeva goes into the hold and settles into her meditation pose. Zak comes in and Osnan asks if he is Bad Cop. Zak asks if he works with his bother Muerto. Osnan says ‘works for’. Says he must be doing OK as he is surviving in his role. He asks about Zak; says he is Imperial. Zak says Republic, Osnan questions Zak’s age. Zak mentions carbonite.

Confusion initially, other thoughts but then focus on Osnan. He is resistant, proud.

The conversation continues. Osnan denies initially following us, arriving at Trolgana following information. After that Myerto asks him to follow us, wants a meeting with Zak. Myerto believes that the battle of Yavin failed because the Empire had too narrowed a view/approach. Myerto wants to explore unconventional thinking to make the Empire more successful. Osnan refuses to be drawn further except when Zak asks whether the Hellions working for ISB makes them a target for other parts of the Empire. Where the ISB consider the Hellions a useful tool. His orders has suggested that as few Hellions as possible attend Life Day this year. Zak asks about what pat of the empire would be likely to deal with the Hellions on Life Day, maybe Imperial Intelligence? That might be likely. Zak switches back to the proposed meeting with his brother. Reeva tells the others, Zak too, what they had learned from Osnan.

Zak goes to talk to the R5L8 unit in Engineering. He is concerned about what it did. Zak offers him crew membership if it follows the crew rules. It asks if the dumdum droids are crew. Zak says not. The unit wants a purpose who had a Jedi as a master. Zak asks the Jedi’s name. The unit does not want to say. Zak does not push it. The unit asks what is wrong with our Jedi. Zak explains she is not a full Jedi. Zak asks if the unit could help. He says not but that his master’s holocron might help. Zak says we might need one at some point. The unit needs to judge us first. Zak suggests it could help with the ship. It says it is not in a good state. Why? Zak says too many fights. Zak offers to introduce the crew. The unit is concerned about Hong and about Cho. Zak offers to show it around.

Next up is Dane & Zak. Dane is in the Rec room when Zak seeks him out. Zak slumps down to join Dane in a coffee. He talks about not remembering his past. He asks Dane what he knows? What danger they are in from his family? Dane says Reeva & Cho are not in dangers because of Zak’s actions though quite a few of the Hellion family know. Dane does not know how his family will react, but Dane has explained that Zak has no memory of it. Dane explains that he has a redacted report of the Hellion massacre (50) 21 years ago that included Zak’s battalion. Dane found this report about five years ago, saying that a Hellion separatist base was destroyed by explosives. Dane has been paying someone in the Empire to verify it. Zak’s memory was wiped, and arm lost in an injury that he can’t remember, other than he was told a Jedi had attacked him.

As we arrive at Enarc Zak’s cyberarm is ready. It enhances brawn, it is tailored to Zak, built in freeze ray and a grappling facility. Busy planet. Sprawling metropolis, satellites, lots of trade & commerce.

Ships funds = 35780.
.4 Hyperdrive upgrade = 8400, can take 2 strain
Hull parts = 4250

Ship funds = 23130

Leaving Enarc & heading into D’kar. We get there really quickly, Dane responds to the enquiry and we are directed to a landing bay. There are three hills that form the Hellion complex. There is a lake in the middle, two streams in, one out. And a large mast, signs of Empire? Skywatcher is in bay 6. Lights everywhere, the green is filled with tents, entertainers etc. It’s a party! We disembark. Dane heads for Rellis & Reece to introduce us. He asks after his parents. His cousins explain his Dad’s injury. Dane leaves us with his cousins to go see his parents. Lisana is monopolised by Reece.

Session 17:

Reeva has vision on the way in. She sees a dark cloaked figure interrogating a woman in her 50s. She was being beaten and mind probed but so far seemed to be holding her own. He wanted to know the whereabout of Jedi or Jedi sympathisers. The interrogation was not pleasant. Then as Reeva watches he turns and seems to look straight at her. Next moment she is thrown backwards both physically & mentally. Disturbing. Reeva has the impression of menace just as she did with Darth Vader.

Retrospective Osnan: Release Osnan on Enarc and agree to set up a communication with Muerto & Zak. Before he goes he wants to talk to Larissa and does.

Lisana spots a guy that seems out of place, he is running a shooting stall. She then moves on with Reece & Rellis. We wander by. Zak wins a fluffy pink mudhorn which he gives to Reeva. Reeva tries to read him but she is unable as he has strong mind defences. He does seem very focused on a mission, though what she has no idea. We move on to find a secluded place to chat. They talk about the stall guy and agree he needs watching. Reeva explains her vision and we are all concerned but have no info as to what it means.

Hong goes to look at the other ships and ends up examining one in particular, Skywatcher, looming at the comms on the bridge. There is a flashing red light on the bridge that says there is an intruder on the ship. Two people come up the ramp to check it out. Hong says that he has checked but thinks it is a false positive.

Dane has gone to see his parents in the Medical facility as his father had been seriously injured. Facilities there are good. The family relate the events that lead up to his father getting hurt. Kallis and Dane get a chance to chat. Kallis doesn’t seem too impressed with Dane and the profile he is creating, racing consorting with Hutts etc and asks why he is here. He says he gave Larissa a lift. She suggests he could just leave with his friends. He says he had hoped for a friendlier reception. She says she has stayed and kept the family safe whilst Dane took Tiernan and left. Tiernan died, Kallis is bitter she lost her sister. Not impressed with what she sees as Dane’s naivety. She says she is pleased to see Dane but is concerned about the risks he brings the family. Dane however still believes that he is doing the right thing and that is inherently dangerous to rely on retaining the Empire’s favour. And his actions to date, trying to find a safe place for the family, has yet to be finalised. Basic but large enough for everyone, comms, fuel depot. Dane has invested heavily in this, around 200 K (20K for 10 years). Not visited for about 2 years.

Kort and another crewmember challenge Hong’s presence on board. Hong says he is practically Dane’s brother. Kort says he is taking Hong to Dane. Kort says Dane is his Uncle. They meet Dane and others of the Skywatcher crew. There is a certain tension there. Kort asks Dane if he knows Hong who claims to be part of Dane’s crew. Dane confirms this but warns Hong away from the other ships. Kallis is even more unimpressed. Hong mentions the droid plugged in to their systems. Kurt is sent to investigate. Kallis says Dane must ensure his ‘guests’ do not interfere with Hellion business.

Kort finds an R5 droid plugged into Hellion systems. Kort challenges the R5 droid and orders the droid to stay with him. Kort takes him to the Comms centre to try to discover what it had doing, apparently monitoring sensors. He reports to Kallis who alerts Hellion security that maybe others are expected to arrive at D’kar?

Liana gets Reece & Rellis involved in entertaining the kids at the party.

Zak calls Dane on comms asking where he is.

Hellions have been notified that a heavy cruiser (Vindicator class “Retribution”) and 4 imperial escorts. Capt Artis asks to speak to person in charge. He says there have been reports of rebel activity in the area and they are here to ensure the base is secure and to look for rebel sympathisers on the planet. Kallis says there is no need but he is welcome. He says he wants to question the family. Kallis says it is Life Day and the questions can wait until tomorrow. He says he has his orders. Comms is terminated. Kallis warns Dane and says he should get out. R5 goes onto comms and warns the rest of us. We notice that coconut shy guy closes his stall and heads out. Cho heads after him. Cho stealths in his direction. Reeva has a quick discussion with Zak, leaves him to talk to Dane & family, she heads after Cho, does not find her but does find him.

Zak heads towards Dane and Kallis. Kallis pulls a sidearm. Zak is challenged but talks rapidly about coconut guy and the Empire arriving. Zak describes coconut man and security are assigned to go find him. Hong starts to head out but Dane stops him and instructs him to leave others ships alone.

Cho decides to ambush the coconut guy but he notices and deflects the palm stunner. He tries to shoot Cho but misses and backs off. Reeva goes on comms and says “found the guy, could be an Imperial spy but he fired on us.” Reeva draws a pistol and asks who he is. Cho puts her hands up and says we just want to talk. He says he has no time for this and starts to try to leave. Cho however has other ideas.. and slams him into a tree.

“Cho..?”

Cho “As he says we haven’t time for this.”

Reeva “Are you OK?”

He calls for help.

Reeva fires on stun and hits, and then removes his weapon.

Zak and security are heading in towards the sounds of gunfire. Hong looks to find good tools. Lisana is still with the kids. Dane heads towards her. “tells her that the Empire are incoming, searching for rebels and Reeva reported being shot at.”

Zak gets to the others and takes the guy into custody. Reeva warns that there are others and the guy called them. Zak uses his comms to warn the rebel scum that the Imperials are coming here for them. A woman replies, “Who is speaking & where is my man?” Zak says he got hurt when he attacked our crew, but he is OK.” She asks if we are with the Hellions. Zak says yes, he is a guest of the Hellions. She says that they would not know they were here. Zak says otherwise. She asks for her man to be looks after and wishes us luck with the Imperials.

Reeva will stimpak the rebel agent.

The Empire land,12 storm troopers disembark, corralling everyone towards the main house.

Kallis take the Lt to task and says they suspect the family of being in cohorts with the rebels. He says if they have nothing to hide, there should be no concerns.

Quick discussion. Dane suggests scarpering. Cho mentions a vision of a festival the empire invades. So, we are not sure if they are here for the rebels we found or for some other purpose. Kallis redirects the rebel & guards to the guest house.

Hong hides in the nexu cage, naked. He is an animal. Lisana is with the kids in the main house.

Dane takes Cho, Zak, Reeva to hide. We head north then across the river to use the mount as cover to get to the stables to hide our life signs. But we are concerned that if the Imperium are planning a massacre, we will not be in a good place to help. May be able to work with the rebels?

Lisana meanwhile is getting the children to play hide & seek upstairs in the house.

Dane contacts Kallis re the rebel spy. She says she will sort him out. She gets him to agree to help them and then lets him go. We contact the rebels & offer help. They do not want to work directly with us but ask us to name our target. We go for the Imperial shuttle first, then the other craft as we need every transport, we can to get everyone away.

We head for the shuttle. Cho & Zak first as they have quiet weapons. Zak takes out the co-pilot with his vibro sword whilst Cho uses her light sabre on the Engineer. Two down. Dane follows but one of the crew shoots wildly & the comms guy raises the alert. Dane takes out another. Reeva heads in but notices 4 more storm troopers on their way so she shuts the shuttle door.

Hong gets in the pilot seat to make a fairly fast exit but messes it up. Lisana hunkers down with the kids & others. Zak takes out the navigator and Cho goes to find the last one in the turret. Reeva takes the ships weapons and opens fire on the 4 storm troopers, she misses but they scatter. 4 TIE fighter attack the Brazen Fox and it takes heavy damage, now right on the limit of going down.

Kallis talks to security and moves to help them attach the storm troopers. But none of them fall.

The rebels are also attacking.

Dane is in the pilot’s seat of the shuttle and opens fire on the scattered storm troopers. He vaporises them. Hong tells him he has things in hand and to get the family out. He aims the Brazen Fox into space at max speed of 4. There are 8 more TIE fighters out there but now 2 x-wing attacking the TIE fighters.

Session 18

Zak heads to the ramp to open it but comes face to face with a red-light sabre which triggers a flashback, bringing back a memory of being attacked by the same light sabre. He doesn’t realise it is Cho. He tries to refocus and bring his ability to command back into control. He succeeds and inspires us.

Reeva asks Dane if he needs a gunner. He says yes so she stays in the turret. She starts to aim, ready to open fire. Dane takes off to take the fight to the TIE fighters. Reeva goes next, misses the TIE fighters but does 6 advantages. Meanwhile Cho & Zak come under fire from the group at the comms tower. They miss. Kallis then shoots at the commander with at the main Hellion corral. She shoots him.

Kort has been rescued by the Rebels and heads towards the house, radioing to Hellions to get to the ships. Reece & Rellis leads the kids out through the woods. The Hellions move to attack the stormtroopers on mass.
Rebels clean up the ship repair area and call on us to get a move on. Imperials open fire on the rebels. Lisana grabs a gun from Rellis and runs for the fighting where Hellions attack stormtroopers. She calls for stormtroopers to be restrained and for everyone to head for the landing pad. Luna says what about Dane’s parents who are in medical. Lisana says she will get them.

Cho heads towards the comms tower and then tries the force to disarm one. It doesn’t work. Next imperial go. The TIE fighters attack the shuttle. The shields hold.

Hong is trying to capture the attention of the TIE fighters and head for the Retribution, distracting them from the Hellion base. Hong directs the pit droids to open fire, Hong intends to damage control. And mends 6 points of hull damage. The pit droids open fire and crit a TIE fighter. The TIE fighters open fire doing 5 damage but one of them does a crit 20 which loses power to the shields. The Retribution then tries to initiate a tractor beam on the Brazen Fox but fails.

Zak heads for Cho to provide backup and opens fire on the stormtrooper Lt. He misses but gains advantage.

Dane opens fire on the TIE fighters. Hit! One down! TIE fighters go next and do 3 damage to the shuttle, but they also hit the shields. Reeva opens fire, misses again but has 4 adv.

Kallis herds everyone towards the landing bay. Reece & Rellis are still directing the children but through an active fire zone from the comms tower. Kort starts to get the ships primed for take-off directing R5 to do the same.

The storm troopers open fire on Cho and miss. The triumph though means the shuttle arrives early and disgorges 20 stormtroopers.

Cho leaps up the bluff to attack the stormtroopers at the comms tower. And kills them all! Way to go Cho!

Lisana arrives at the med facility, instructs Dane’s parents & security guards to leave out the back door and get to a safe point for a pickup. She then moves position with the idea of keeping them at bay for as long as she can, then will run and join the parents.

Hong intends to ram the landing bay of the Retribution to cause an internal explosion. Takes out 4 TIE fighters prepping for launch and any remaining. Hong calls Dane “I think I can take this cruiser out of action.” Dane says “No, there’s another way” Hong says it is a bit late now but says he loves Dane. Dane says he is part of the family, the BF & Hellions. Hong says this time he is not scared and then there is a huge explosion. Everyone hears this conversation and realise that Hong is no more, but he has turned the whole tide of this battle.

Zak moves to the main Helion group and does encourages them to move more quickly. Cho is facing an Imperial officer. She tells him to run and heads back towards Zak.

The Imperials go next, 2 squads up to the quadrangle, I to secure the area, I to rearm the others. Lisana now gets the chance to distract them. She shoots at one of the captains and hits. He is on the ground but not dead.

Rebels go next and finish mopping up the stormtroopers. Then the kids arrive and are loaded, Reece heads for the Kimji Sunrise readying to take off. Stormtroopers - three groups attack Cho and Zak. They miss Cho but hit Zak twice critting him, but he is winded.

Another shuttle lands. Lisana calls to Dane over comms to get his parents out.

Dane dives the ship to collect parents and Lisana and calls to her to get to the pickup point. He tries to outmanoeuvre the TIE fighters; he fails and is stressed! Reeva shoots but misses.. again!

A group of TIE fighters are recalled to the Retribution. Others are still fighting the Xwings. One is damaged.

Back on the ground things are looking dicey, so Zak & Cho silently agree that legging it is the best policy. So they do. Zak warns everyone on comms. On her way out Cho hurls a dead stormtrooper into a shuttle engine.

Stormtroopers open fire on Lisana’s location. Lisana takes 9 points of damage. Another group open fire but fortunately miss but blow away the cover. She runs.

Kort has a full ship and so he takes off. He tells Kallis what he is doing.

TIE fighters shoot at the shuttle. Reeva shoots back and actually hits one! Dane meanwhile stops quickly hoping they will overshoot and then lands quickly for a pickup. The Kimji Sunrise swoops in and takes out not one.. but two TIE fighters. Reeva feels inadequate.

The exodus takes place, first stop Enarc. Ajan Kloss is the location that Dane has set up as a bolt hole for the Hellion family.

Session 19

6 Hellion & 1 rebel transport leave the Hellion base plus two x-wing as escort. We head for Enarc about 8 hours away. There are 2 Imperial heavy cruisers are waiting at Enarc, waiting for us. As Enarc in a nexus, Imperial do not have resources to block it. We head out towards Ryndellia but end up at Socorru. There are smugglers, bounty hunters etc there. Kallis chose it to escape Imperial notice. It is a desert planet with black sands & a huge red star.

(We can replace kit under 1000 cr that does not require a roll)

An encampment on planet has a head tribesman who knows Kallis. They continue with their chores, largely undisturbed by the arrival of our convoy. The Hellions are reuniting, pleased to be alive. We have time to mourn the loss of Hong. We share our memories: surfing down the scrap pile, the infiltration of the thugs as one of them, the diversion in the bar with that dancer and so many more. We all get blotto.

On Skywatcher, Cho and Zak both seek some privacy on a ship full of kids. Zak needs to try to come to terms with the memories triggered by seeing Nieme’s light sabre in Cho’s hand. Zak dreams, the red of the lightsabre at the forefront. He then sees 2 lightsabres which chase him on a crewed ship, but no-one seems to see him even when he wants them to help. Then he is in an alley and the 2 lightsabres merge into one. It sheers off his cyberarm, then crashes onto his head. Zak is yelling, wide-eyed covered in sweat, Cho is woken by this. Cho fires her lightsabre so she can see. Zak is now in a fear funk, rolls off the bed, cowering in the corner. Cho tries to reassure Zak, telling him it is her and he is safe. Cho asks what is wrong. Zak says he was attacked by a Jedi. It is how he lost his arm and his eye; the memory is fading though. Cho tries to help him with meditation so he can recall more details. She takes on Nieme’s face as a trigger. It does not work. But Cho knows that Zak recognised Nieme. And Zak remembers her, fear returns. Cho tries to explain that was her Master and her master’s lightsabre. Both are struggling to make sense of it all. Cho says she did not die in the Purge but went on her own vengeance spree. Zak is trying to identify the alley and therefore the planet. He has 6 months missing in his memory. He feels that this was at the end of that and he had been in that bar drowning his sorrows, in a downward spiral. Still cannot remember the previous months. Zak is also concerned how Cho is affected by this. Cho says she had put Nieme on a pedestal and had trouble realising that Nieme was subject to the same pressures as the rest of us. Zak is regarding Cho still with an element of fear. Cho offers to remove herself from the room, but Zak does not seem to want that, just asks her not to assume that identity again.

After the Hong wake, around the campfire, Zak has a recurrence of the nightmare. Zak’s screams wake everyone. Cho tries to reassure. Reeva asks what is happening. Cho tells everyone to go back to sleep. Reeva moves to Zak, puts an arm around his shoulders. “Dad? Are you OK?” Dane is holding weapons thinking we are under attack. Lisana reaches out for the med kit she does not have. Eventually we start to settle down again. Reeva stays close to Zak, worried about him.

In the morning Dane & Kallis meet to talk. Kallis seeks Dane out. Seeing Dane’s state, hands him a coffee. Says he & his team came good for the family & she is sorry for his loss. Dane says Hong felt like family. She says she is grateful to them all. Kallis though needs to understand how the Hellions ended up in that situation, how the rebels & then Zak arrived also. Dane explains he knew nothing of rebels but explained it all started with Larisa who had been warned by Muerto through Osnan not to attend Life Day. Explains about Larissa crashing the ship and that we went to rescue her, capturing Osnan in the process, learning from him that another Imperial faction had it in for the Hellions, bit of a powerplay. So we came to help, arriving ahead of that Imperial faction. She then turns the conversation to Zak and asked Dane why they had not heard earlier about him from Dane. She regrets that Dane had left. He explains that he could not have stayed, too angry. Kallis says she had experienced doubts about the Empire and asks Dane why he thought she chose to go against them. Dane confesses the family were still important to him. Kallis says she has not liked Isabelle’s attitude at Imperial college, members of the family disappearing, so she has questioned the family’s position with the Empire. But Dane did come back in time to help and with a bolthole for the family. Dane says he respects her as a leader. They hug.

Kallis calls a family powwow for the afternoon to discuss the rebels, what the Hellions do next etc.

Meanwhile Larisa finds Dane, thought about talking to him last night but realised we were busy. She wants advice. Gentim confessed to her that he had been talking to the rebels & that maybe all of this had been his fault. Larissa asks if Dane will talk to him.

Dane finds him working on Sky Ranger, says he wants to chat. Gentim says he is busy. Dane says he thinks Gentim is feeling guilty. Gentim is angry, says he has no time to talk. Gentim throws Dane a polishing rag. Dane sets in to help. Dane expresses sympathy with his loss of Holiday, his wife. Gentim realises Larisa must have spoken to Dane. He confesses that he and his wife had not been getting along recently. The family likes stability, so they did not discuss their problems. Gentim confesses to an affair. Met on Vandor, she was interested in the ship and one thing led to another. She had interests in the rebellion, contacts. And through Gentim she got to know about the family and G’Kar. He has not been able to contact her recently, does not understand it. He had figured that maybe their relationship was over. He knew her as Styreene, but he knows that was not her real name. Dane admits guilt about Tiernan. They were unknowingly on a rebel mission, just as crew, when she was killed. Gentim asks Dane not to tell Kallis. Dane says Gentim knows he will have to tell her. Gentim denies that, says that Dane has not been around the family for a while. Gentim wants to find out about Styrene before he talks to Kallis. Gentim says you must be Empire or rebel, that’s how Kallis will see it. He tells Dane to keep out of it. Dane suggests that maybe the rebels will let the cat out of the bag as everyone wants to know what they were doing there, Gentim included.

Zal of the rebels comes over to talk. Zak hands back the radio and offers to shake hands. She does. And then goes round everyone else except Cho. Then a slightly cryptic conversation ensues as each side try to sound out the other. Cho asks about Force Users; Reeva asks about Reina. The rebels pass on a means of communicating with them and depart having finally given Dane a snippet suggesting he looks at Kallis’s husband Junna as a candidate for Imperial Spy.

Dane & Cho head for a chat with Junna… but subtly. They are lucky in that he approaches them. He says that Kallis wants to confront Zak. There is going to be a family meeting. Junna thinks this might be the wrong time. They need to be practical. Dane says he has wondered why the Empire turned up and has been asking around. He suggests that Zak should go, maybe we should all go on ahead. Dane says he spoke to the rebels & they told him to talk to Junna. Cho suggests he holds nothing back. Junna says he had a friend, got him a job within the Hellion corporation. They both had rebel sympathies. Then his friend was killed. But he did not die and turned out to be Imperial Intelligence. This happened a few weeks ago. Junna and his friends have been feeding info unwittingly to the Empire. Junna is eager to see us go and offers to sort out a ship.
Kallis calls us & the Hellions together. She thanks us and expresses sympathy for the loss of Hong. Kallis also wants to divide up jobs amongst the Hellions, regaining assets, finances, students. And getting the new base set up. Agen Klos is a tight secret.

Kallis talks to Dane & Zak. She questions Zak. She accuses Zak of killing Hellions. Zak says he oversaw a squad but has no memory of the events. Kallis does not believe it and questions Dane. Dane is inclined to believe Zak. Dane says it could be an elaborate ruse, but he does not think Zak could have kept it up for 6 months +. Kallis’s mother (Locasia) arrives too. She says that although Zak cannot remember it does not make it less of a crime. Kallis agrees. Both Zak & Dane want to know what happened though. Zak defends himself. Mothers says that maybe the memories should be returned to Zak. Kallis & mother have a quiet word. Kallis demands justice. Mother says Junna is concerned that the Zak issue could affect their evacuation. That the family might not follow Dane. Kallis returns on her own. She explains to Zak & Dane that they cannot deal with it now, but that Dane doesn’t bring him to the new base until Zak knows what happened with his squad and the Hellions. Zak agrees and leaves. Dane says he will make sure that he has found out first. Dane informs the rest of us. Cho and Reeva defend Zak, not at all impressed with the decision. Reeva does not believe that Zak murdered a good number of Dane’s family in a raid. Lisana talks quietly to us all about sticking together. Reeva apologies to Dane. Cho heads off to see if Zak is OK. Lisana consoles Dane.

Cho finds Zak, Reeva follows. They talk to Zak. Reeva says that she is scared, worried that she cannot do it, might make things worse. Cho adds some reassurance. Reeva thinks the Force is not approving of her direction. She asks Zak if he wants to know. He says he does but that there are other avenues to explore. Reeva is thinking that maybe with Cho’s help? But she is still scared. They agree to leave it until the morning... or beyond. Zak goes back to apologise. Reeva adds that we are all grieving too. He tries to help us to understand Kallis, but it is not easy to swallow.

Session 20

Council meeting (backfill) – Kallis leads, gets the family motivated. All captains get missions & then agree to rendezvous at Agen Kloss. Kallis is destined to go get the kids but first they are going to Cjaalyscé to reequip. They are offering to take us to Savareen to provide us with an old ship that has been in storage. Also given us £40K to help with getting the ship in order. Savareen is a desert planet but desert is surrounded by water.

We start to settle down for the night. So many stars. Zak moves away so he does not disturb others, Reeva checks with Cho but she is going after him. Zak has a restless night but no nightmares.

Morning arrives and we get ready to head for Cjaalyscé. But Cho and Reeva try some force exercises. Reeva does not meditate but sees the woman again but in a jungle setting. She seems confused. Seems she is still a prisoner on an Empire prison ship M226. Her name is Heathan Romund. She says she has been in contact with Reina who asked her to get in contact with me. She needs to be rescued. Reeva says she’ll try... then it fades.

They head for the city with the bazaar and group up to shop, Reeva & Zak go together. Reeva buys lots including the scramble key. Zak helps carry stuff. Cho goes on her own and tries to find a disrupter pistol, using possible Black Sun contact. Dane also goes shopping. Nothing contentious, gets his dragoon rifle. Lisana goes to look for a stun cloak. CS4 ghost blaster pistol. But no armoured clothing.

35K of credits left.

Black Dust tavern is our destination to meet up for lunch. There is a striking figure about 7 feet tall white & furry sitting at a table. Quite cute but a bit sad. Wears a mask that translates speech. Has a blaster carbine. Has big backpack with him, probably travelling. Also has tools on a belt.

Reeva is asking questions trying to find someone who might know what M226, talks to the proprietor Karl Ancher. Lisana asks for a Falleen cocktail. Reeva asks about M226 and is told the Gigoran had asked about it too. She goes to talk to him & buys him a drink.

Martell station, Pask (trandoshan) knows where M226 is. Urrly wants to come along with us. He has a friend on M226 that needs rescuing. He has been looking for his squad mates from battle Lansend 26. Squad Leader Ummasaki is who he is looking for. Urrly then asked her if she was uncomfortable talking about the Force. She suggests they discuss that later. He agrees. Then Zak asks about him about his strength. They arm wrestle. Urrly is winning but Zak cheats. Then suddenly rushes 3 people who are trying to leave. Reeva is tackled by Dane who seems to believe she is deliberately withholding info and making decisions for everyone. Then a fight breaks out with Zak. Cho says to tell Zak she is safe. Reeva steps forward and relates that info to Zak. Lisana leaves by the back door. Urrly takes up his rifle. Dane downs his drink. An opponent draws his vibro blade. Zak tells him to leave.

Zak says that they were trying to abduct Cho but we don’t know where she is. We return to our table. Still need to find a place to discuss issues. Zak hires a room at the Black Dust. Zak asks Cho what happened. She explains Black Sun wanted her for questioning. Then Reeva is asked to explain again. She does but again is accused of not telling everyone everything right from the start. She tries to explain it was not deliberate. Zak stalks out saying he is pissed with the Hellions & maybe he should go off himself. Cho attempts to calm things down with Dane & Lisana. Reeva goes after Zak, puts her arms around him and asks him not to leave her. He says he won’t. They talk for a few minutes then Zak returns to camp & Reeva goes back to talk to the others.

Meanwhile, the others talk to Urrly. Then Reeva arrives back. More talk and Dane & Lisana got to talk to Kallis to get her to agree that Urrly comes too. Cho and Reeva stay with Urrly to come along later. Kallis & Junner agree that Urrly came come, so we head back with him.

The journey to pick up the ship is about 5 jumps.

Cho and Reeva go to talk to Zak to persuade him to go with them. A conversation takes place. Zak agrees to go. And so, we set off.

Session 21

We get ready for launch. Reeva offers to help the crew. Dane settles Urrly into their cabin and they chat about relationships between the crew. Zak finds a cabin far from Kallis. Cho stands watch over him. Dane & Lisana head for the bridge at launch. In conversation with Reece & Rellis, they suddenly call out a warning that there is an Imperial Star Destroyer just come into orbit. We all scramble to launch and get out as we move to battle-stations. Reeva and Urrly both move quickly and get into a turret. Lisana goes looking for Urrly. Zak gets a flashback, grabs his weapon & heads to muster his men. Cho follows. Dane remains on the bridge. We have tie fighters coming in. Reeva kills 2. Kallis queries who is in the turret. Reeva reports in that as they were firing at us. Kallis begrudgingly gives her permission to continue as she is the Captain.

Urrly is discovered in the other turret. Meanwhile tie fighters score a hit on us. Kallis contacts the Star Destroyer who attacked before confirming our identity. Cpt Reed of the Revenge knows the Skywatcher and explains we are guilty of treason having taken out an Imperial ship on G’kar. She refutes that but he is not willing to listen & calls for surrender. Kallis instructs the gunners to fire and the pilot to get us out of there. Urrly fires and takes out 3 tie fighters! He is good!

Cho mind tricks Zak to convince him not to open the door to space. Reeva opens fire again but misses. Dane tries damage control but fails. Cho talks to Zak, about what triggered his memory and what it was. Zak says he was on a dropship and had pressed a detonator. Cho offers reassurance. Lisana assists Urrly.

Another wave of tie fighters engage. Urrly fires at group 4 and takes out 2 of them. Dane enhances the shields. We get hit again. Reeva fires and takes out group 2. Zak & Cho get back to the cabin and grab a drink. We get hit again. Things are getting dicey. The ship systems shut down. Tiger is working damage control and with Dane’s help manages to coax a last surge from the ship. We jump. Kallis orders our crew to the bridge.

Kallis is quite complimentary to the gunners and thanks us. Then she asks Dane about Urrly and the needs for security, concerned about the Imperium and how they found us so quickly. Urrly & Cho suggest that they could probably track this ship as it was one of theirs. Urrly & Dane are despatched to find any tracking devices. Kallis thanks everyone.
Urrly, Dane & Tiger find a tracker deep in the mechanics of the ship. Probably there since it was built. Dane reports to Kallis who wants to tell all the Hellions but NOT the Empire. Dane offers Cho’s services as a cryptographer. She agrees. A coded message goes out to the other Hellion ships to locate and ditch their trackers. Kallis thanks everyone and suggests they grab some R&R. She has a quiet word with Cho & they agree that if Kallis can restrain from poking Zak, Cho will ensure he behaves.

In hyperspace, Cho approaches Lisana to ask for her help in counselling Zak, explains about his recent episode in trying to open the doors in space. Offers Lisana a gift of a disrupter pistol made more concealable. Initially she tries to refuse but eventually accepts it with thanks. Lisana says she would help with Zak regardless of the disrupter.

Reeva asks Urrly about the Force. He says he uses it to help with targeting. If it exits, it may help, if not it will not but he won’t be worse off. Reeva asks if he knows anyone who uses the Force. Seems he does not. He asks if she is uncomfortable, she explains that discussing it in public with possibly anyone listening is not a good idea.

Lisana starts her counselling of Zak using an empathic approach. She has a chat with Cho first. Expresses concern about Zak. He explains he is not himself right now, confesses the opening doors in space attempt. He welcomes the help. They discuss and try to offer support and their belief in him. Lisana also mentions Dane’s support of Zak with his own family. Deal with it as a team, Cho to talk to Reeva whilst Lisana talks to Dane.

Two days late we arrive at Savareen. Dusky browns & deep blue seas. Not much in orbit, planet seems quiet. The junk yard at Kobari we are looking for has the Hellion 3 in it and Dane delivered it here some 13 years before. Trec Goran was the guy that ran the scrap yard then. We start to make enquiries without much of a response. Skywatcher lands near the junk yards. It has a frontier feel. There seems to be a bar.

We decide to go scouting first. There is an office, but we take a look around. No-one in the office but Reeva calls out. A Chagrian appears. He is well dressed. Appears surprised to see quite a few people. Maybe pleased to see us. Offers drinks. Dane asks after the Hellion 3 and Trec offers to take us on a repulsor. It takes about 30 mins to get there and it has been well protected by copious dust sheets. His minions remove them. It looks surprisingly sound. We go in. Needs work, but doable!

We start work. This ship is huge! We seem to be attracting attention. Crimson Dawn bounty hunters by the look. Trec says they are here and there and that he sometimes pays them. Reeva suggests we might hire them, protection money.

Zak gets some more therapy from Cho & Lisana, so that Zak loses some of his fear, to get a sense of detachment about what he did. Does not really work.

Cho and R5-L8 start work on the hyperdrive but it is a bit more than they bargain for. However, they do work well together and R5-L8 develops trust in Cho.

Lisana takes food to the Crimson Dawn. They are suspicious but she says do not worry its not poison. They then say they have a business proposition, in the protection racket. Lisana starts to bargain and to turn the tables on them. We hire them for 700 and they then also help, work and supplies. Lisana plays them. They find a part we need for the hyperdrive.

Urrly gets into the mechanics dealing with the power fluctuations. And does it well! Then goes to help Dane who is working on the shields. Two shields are repaired, one left to get sorted.

Torpedoes?

Finally, we are ready to leave. The ship is looking pretty good. We name it the Blue Nexu in memory of Hong. We take off. It is a bit sluggish, but we are on our way!

Session 22

A recap of previous sessions clarified where we were.

Then Reeva approached Zak and asked to talk, expressing her concern for Zak’s state of mind. They talked about Reeva using her force powers to try to free Zak’s memories and of the possible outcomes of such an endeavour. Both were honest with each other and Reeva offering the only comfort she could of saying that Zak is her father and whatever the outcome, it would not change her feelings.

Zak took several precautions, concerned that he might go off the rails & hurt someone and both agree that Cho should be involved. Reeva prepared herself and then started the journey through Zak’s mind, trying to remove the blockage that prevented Zak from remembering. Then, seemingly hours later, it is done. Worn out we all head for bed.

Zak calls everyone together and confesses that they had some success in recovering memories. He admits he oversaw the mission but that was to take down the comms only. Secondarily, separatist assets should be removed and some of the team took that too much to heart when talking about Count Dooku and the Hellions. Dane starts to ask questions., concerned about how the Hellion children could be classed as separatists. Dane takes time out to consider everything he has learned, unsure yet what to make of it all.

We arrive at Martel Station, which orbits Remduba II, a barren planet which is used for mining. We are contacted by Station Control asking for ID. We have fake IDs, supply them, and give enough vague reasons for visiting. We enter a docking area, reminds us of the Wheel. Strong Imperial presence including guards collecting a fee from arrivals. Some arrival seemingly cannot pay his fees and is carted off. They question Urrly’s presence, but Dane claims him as crew. We pay a fee for entry.

We need to find Urrly’s contact, one Passk who hopefully has information about Kildrik, his old scout leader. We find him, he is known as Gary & run’s Gary’s Curiosities. Urrly immediately asks to confirm the man’s identity and then asks after M226. He asks if Urrly is referring to the Perlemian Haul. He invites us in and provides tea. Urrly pays 50 credits as requested for some basic information. Special jamming equipment aboard this group of ships. Urrly asks when they will next be through Martel Station. The control Tower would know or he has a contact with the Governor and maybe be able to expedite matters. Gary wants a fee. We discuss & introductions would be about 100 credits or could pay more for a quicker intro. Cho thinks we could find out from Control. She asks Gary how much for discretion. Urrly is somewhat upset by Gary’s attitude but Reeva then pays the man.

We go for a meal & then head for the Control Centre, find a darkened service door and Reeva attempts access. Manages to partly open the door and a shape-changed Cho go in. She stealths in excellently but has trouble with the antiquated systems but eventually gets the info. Back on the ship we examine the details. Seems we have about 4-6 hours whilst they are on station. Tight. We start to plan & work out what other info we need and what preparations to make. Sneak on as officials or suppliers, head for prisoners. Someone needs to sabotage the hyperdrive. Someone needs to find the prisoner locations - using the Force? Plan a tracking device externally. Drop them out of hyperspace, rescue the prisoners, get picked up. Reeva raises concerns about the dark force user, is worried that he might detect her but also suggests she might be able to track him.

A few days pass and then the Perlemian Haul arrives, swarms of tie fighters in tow!

We board via our shuttle. Head for the maintenance tunnel and get stopped by an Imperial Erk. An Imperial Officer comes over. We notice our shuttle leaving. Reeva crosses her fingers, mentally. The officer opens a crate and discovers Urrly’s weapon. Cho immediately uses her force powers to convince her not to see the crate opened. It does not work, so Zak manages to drop a crate on her & knock her out. Reeva comments quietly ‘He knows we’re here’. Lisana adds a sedative to keep the Officer out cold. We leave her to her underlings & head into the maintenance corridor. Cho feels a presence she has not felt for a long time.

Session 23

Head into the maintenance tunnels and they show signs of age, neglect, infestations etc. These are not the shiny public areas. We start to get organised to sabotage the hyperdrive, locate the prisoners and continue our plan.

Cho has a vision of a control room on this ship, a dark figure, being struck by a light sabre but Zak intervenes. Cho feels she is not ready for the challenge ahead without someone as capable as Zak by her side.

Deciding groups: Cho & Zak to the hyperdrive as they may face the most opposition, the rest on prisoner rescue, likely Lisana & Urrly for Urrly’s colleague, Kilrik, with Dane & Reeva going after Heathan. Zak, Reeva & Dane wearing uniforms.

The four ‘prisoner rescue’ team go up through a hatch, Dane leading. The coast is clear, we all emerge. Reeva gets to work on a terminal to try to find prisoner locations. She gets the location and a floor plan, and two probe droids come around the corner. Lisana directs Urrly to check out certain panels, whilst Reeva chats to Dane about shore leave.

Cho and Zak are on route to the hyperdrive, Cho saying this is probably going to be a bad day, when she senses a presence behind her, Zak hears a footfall and then they both hear a lightsabre initiate. Zak makes a fear roll, he succeeds against it but is staggered momentarily. Cho feels guilt and tries to control her feelings. Succeeds and feels strain but stays in control. They turn to face a Twillek dark force user. Cho recognises him from her early days. They were once friends. He says reports were right in that there are a couple of rats onboard. Cho says it is good to see you again. He is confused. Do we know each other? Cho asked what has happened to him. He says “Cho?” Cho says she thought he was dead and asked what happened. Our little droid, R5, is on the ship and plants the tracking device but an Imperial droid looms into view. The droids fight each other. R5 wins and the Imperial Droid loses all contact with the ship.

The prisoner Rescue team apparently fool the droids that they are a maintenance crew escorted by officers. As a result, the team split to Urrly & Dane and the other pairing of Lisana & Reeva to preserve the supervised maintenance crew image. Dane & Urrly head for the turbo lift. Urrly gets in through the blast doors and Dane intimidates the petty officer, then stuns him.

Lisana and Reeva get through the door easily but fail to convince the guard that they are there legitimately. He presses an alarm.

Back with Cho & Zak, Cho’s friend grows angry and asks Cho accusingly what happened to her, why she was not there to support him long ago. She repeats she thought he was dead & had looked for him. He advances on her threateningly. “You didn’t look hard enough!” Cho ignites her light sabre and counters his advance. Zak enters the fray, using the freeze ray in his arm. The force user uses his powers to grab Zak’s arm and throw him away. His weapon discharges on the control panel.

Dane and Urrly notice alarms going off. Dane throws the command cylinder to Urrly to get his friend out. Urrly rushes to do that and finds his former commander in a state. Urrly physically picks up his friend, noticing his eyes are both gone and his fingers so severely damaged as to be unusable. Dane can hear booted feet heated their way and warns Urrly. Urrly asks Dane to take his friend. Set on auto fire, Urrly opens up on the group and mows them down. They decide to leave quickly.

Back with Lisana and Reeva, Reeva manages to shoot the guard and relieve his body of security keys, which she chucks to Lisana before covering the door. Lisana uses her disrupter on the medical droid whilst Reeva covers the main door. Hearing Lisana open fire, Reeva runs back to see if Lisana needs help. Heathan is out of it.

Back with Zak & Cho, she and Gak face off. Cho says they do not have to fight. He still advances but his anger is now more controlled, and he seems focused on revenge for all he has been through since being deserted by Cho. Cho uses the force to pelt him with objects. He swipes at her and at the last moment Zak intervenes and takes the hit.

Dane and Urrly unlock the other cells and suggest prisoners go with them, quite a few do. They head for the escape pods. Sounds of more troops approaching. Lisana and Reeva emerge but now with other prisoners as they discovered kids in the cells in their block. Reeva is conflicted. She can sense Zak has been hurt and Cho is in trouble, Dane & Urrly are under attack and Lisana is suggesting she goes to help Zak, but she can’t leave Lisana undefended. Maybe she can get Dane & Urrly to join up with them. She tells him they have kid prisoners who might be Hellion. As she & Lisana look around, they see Urrly and Dane with troopers on the far side and Lisana suggests to Dane that they back up and we join forces.

Back with Cho & Zak, combat continues. Zak attacks with his vibro sword but fails to penetrate. Gak hits Zak hard again. Zak goes down. Cho then force attacks Gak. And he begins to think better of taking her on and maybe she could be recruited? Concerned that maybe he has been diverted, he leaves to find out what else might have been happening.

Back with Dane & Urrly. Dane fires and disarms & crits one of the guys. Then Urrly opens up and takes out 2. Then the troopers also do auto fire on Dane and almost take him down, critting him in the process. Urrly then takes damage before they fire on Dane again with another severe crit on Dane. Reeva contacts Cho and asks how Dad is. Cho says OK and they can manage. Reeva runs back to the others.

Everyone makes it down to the escape pods. We launch, get back to the ship and lick our wounds. Conversations start up some time later and we learn the children are force sensitive which Reeva had suspected purely by their proximity to Heathen and Gak’s interest in her.

Session 24

Reeva meets with Hethan and gains some info on her mother. That night Lisana asks Reeva & Dane to look after the kids, which they do.

We gather for breakfast the following day. Lisana Is not looking too good. Reeva watches her with some concern. Lisana and Dane thank Urrly for his help in the fight and saving Dane. Reeva agrees.

They discuss the children, generally agreeing that the children should be sent into hiding via the orphanage contacts that Lisana has. And that Hethan should not go with the children but continue with the group. Could be difficult.

Lisana & Reeva finally talk. No real resolution but Reeva makes Lisana aware that she would do anything for her, Lisana returns from that saying that she would like to help Reeva, particularly about Zak once Reeva confesses that she is not sure where she is going or even if she has friends aboard. Reeva tells her about her mother and that she is not sure she wants to find her. Needs to get her head sorted.

Dane and Zak meet up. Start to chat. Dane has some further questions. Wants to know about the team. Asks about Reina. Zak says she was the intelligence asset, had worked with the team before. Dane wants to understand her role in the mission. Zak says she had her orders and achieved her objects as far as he knew. The explosives guy and Reina had obviously worked together before. There was talk about separatists and finding Count Dooku on the Helion floor did not help to deny that. They discuss Meri briefly. Dane says he understands Reeva wants to find her mother, but he is not sure how he feels about that. He wants to know from Zak what Reina was like. Zak says she is like Lisana in some ways, she too could work a room. Dane tries to reconcile his later encounter with Reina & reckons she was not working for the Empire. Zak cannot understand how the woman he knew would abandon her daughter. Zak wants to help Dane but cannot find him a target that he is sure of.

Reeva finds R5L8 and apologies for scaring him in the hangar and thanks him for opening the door.

Dane wants Reeva to practice her piloting skills as he may need to her to step into his role leaving him to use the other craft. Maybe a little trust? Right now Reeva will take any positive.

Urrly and Dane discuss ship’s defences. Weapons, shielding, normally 6 gunners on a ship this size.

Zak goes to find Reeva, who is ‘out of sight, out of mind’ in her cabin. He apologises. Reeva suggests there is no one better to be Captain. He says not sure the others trust him enough. Reeva suggests he asks them.

Eventually we arrive at the Wheel. Seems a long time ago. Zak & Dane go off to contact the rebels. Zak does the contact drop, Dane heads to the bar in the Blasted Asteroid. He feels a hand on his shoulder. Meri. They get a drink and sit down. Meri says the Hellions are causing havoc. Raid on an Imperial academy and a depot. Meri says he wants to apologise for D’Qar. Says he did what he could to mitigate. The org that was the Imperial Hellion contingent has been subsumed. Reckons that Yavin brought the Empire together, gave them something to fight for. Dane decides to ask about that earlier mission to see what Meri’s recollections were. He says they were all a bit naïve back then. Unlucky, too many adverse factors combined to that explosive result. Dane feels he is heading towards that realisation. Zak arrives, the brothers hug. Zak wants to know what Meri wants. It has been 20 years. He tells Zak that his mother was on the Death Star when it blew up. Rest of the family are OK. Meri says he is regarded as head of the family but nothing to stop Zak from taking over the family businesses. He could help with that if it appealed. There is a favour he wants though. Mentions Geonosis. Says some research was taken. CX71 being sold to highest bidder could be devastating. It is a weapon of terror. It needs to be buried so deep. Could be key to ending the Empire without further bloodshed. He wants us to track down CX71 and recover it for him. He suggests starting with the Huts. Dane wants to know how he found us. Meri says it has taken about 6 months! Meri asks after Reeva. Zak explains she rescued him from the carbonite. He hints that Reeva could be granted some family advantages.

Lisana and Cho head towards Lisana’s contact, a safe refuge until they can be placed somewhere more permanent. Larger than Lisana expected, it looks like a warehouse. There is a reception area. Reom is not around but the receptionist says she is in charge. However, when Lisana explains, she contacts Reom on the communicator. He says he will be with her shortly and so arrives. She expresses her admiration of what Reom has achieved. They adjourn to a private room. Lisana explains her issue about the children on the ship. They agree a way forward for the children and whilst Reom crunches the numbers, Lisana gets a guided tour. Monthly cost of 1000 credits a month. Satisfied they head back to the ship. until waylaid by 3 Trandoshans from out of an alley with live night sticks saying, “Hey girlie your Daddy wants a word.” Cho attempts to influence them that their friends are about to backstab. They start to hit each other, trying to get in first. Lisana though gets hit from behind, stunned and she falls to the floor. She has however her disrupter pistol in hand and fires back in that direction. Hits the female Trandoshan in the shoulder but it is nasty. Cho then chucks a dumper truck in her direction, creating a Trandoshan smear along the wall. She is toast.

They get back. Lisana to med bay, others taking duties to get ready. Weapons agreed and then we set off. Have the wake, sharing drinks, dancing & stories of Hong.

In the morning, Zak, Urrly & Dane head for a meet with the rebels. Zak does the last part himself. Meets & agrees that the Rebels will collect their guys and pass on a message to Reina. They collect in 2 hours.

We discuss the Hethan situation. Urrly thinks Hethan should go with the children, the rest of us do not, even Reeva has come round to this way of thinking. They invite Hethan in. After much persuasion she still does not to leave the children, passionately believes that they will be traumatised without her. We withdraw to discuss, none of us sure what to do for the best. Cholganna is mentioned as a possible alternative. We return but Cho & Lisana do not. We try again and at least get an admission that Hethan thinks that Lisana has the right long-term plan but that she should be part of it.

Reeva slips out and goes to update Lisana & Cho.

The Rebels are collected by ambulance and a hologram is left from Reina for Zak and Reeva. Zak views it.

Session 25

We discuss the children over breakfast and decide that Cholganna is the best solution we can offer. Zak & Reeva agree to talk to Heathan. After explaining the deal, Heathan buys in, even liking the sound that she might be able to help them too.

Zak heads out to get a gift for Cho. A thank you for lightsabre tuition and an apology for rib cracking. Lisana had suggested a clasped hand might be appropriate.

Dane attends med bay to get some counselling from Lisana.

Zak & Reeva chat about Meri. Reeva is on the bridge familiarising herself with the pilot’s deck. Zak explains about Meri’s desire to meet & why. They chat over the pros and cons and set up a meet at the Blasted Asteroid. Reeva does a spot the ‘imperial’ at the bar. Meri arrives and heads over after a pause. Zak stands & hugs him. Reeva establishes he wants to be called Uncle. He invites her to be part of the family but she confesses she knows little of what that means. He says their house is one of the most powerful. They prosper. Reeva diverts by asking questions. Zak has his own questions, catching up.

Concealment for ship £20K, auto fire heavy blaster rifle for Reeva, ship weapons? Quad lasers?

We decide to leave for Cholganna without too much delay so that we can place the children as safely as we can. Arrival is uneventful. The settlement has moved and is thriving. Heathen seems OK with it all. She and the captain do seem to start to get on. We socialise for a while, say our farewells and leave.

We head for Hoff. We know there is a rebel base there. We know Reina is there. It is a trip of several days. Reeva lands the ship at least adequately.

They are escorted into the base and Reeva gets a certain amount of attention especially from one of her Mums subordinates, who confessed that Reina, now a Commander, had saved his life and that if Reeva wanted anything she had only to ask. They are shown to basic quarters and fed, Reina playing host, wanting to talk to Reeva but accepting she is not ready and being prepared to wait. A little later they get word that Reina is now off duty and Reeva agrees to go to meet her but takes Lisana with her.

They are in her quarters and Reeva comes straight to the point asking why her mum had abandoned her. Reina explained that she had been discovered, hurt, her attacker also and then forced to flee using plans already in place for such an emergency. Reeva should have gone with them but was out and they had to move quickly. Subsequently, Reina used her resources to try to find Reeva, but she had left their home. Reeva asks questions discovering that her mum has worked for the rebels for about 20 years, even whilst Reeva was growing up. She adds lots of reassurance that Reeva was the most important thing to her, that she loves her and so regrets the way things turned out. Reeva is not yet ready to forgive and to trust and says she needs more time to get her head around it. Reina agrees. Later that evening Reina stays behind to talk to Reina again.

We all stay over at the base and the following day, mid-morning, Reina is told that 3 Imperial star destroyers are approaching the base. Alarms sound!

Episode 26

Dane & Zak are trying to dig out and prep the ship. Cho and Lisana are having a run around the hanger. Reeva is still asleep, dreaming about being chased by Vader. Urrly is with some of the rebels. Lisana and Cho are aware of the emergency first and call out over comms asking where we all are. They head for the Blue Nexu, making reasonable progress. Zak & Dane report in. Zak has dug a lot of snow but not really achieved anything. Dane is doing system checks but the consoles are flickering and then go dead. Dane calls for Urrly to come but Urrly has a fight with Imperials pending and will not come, offering verbal assistance. Reeva reports in, a little disorientated and Lisana says they must evacuate. Reeva manages to get up but is still packing. Lisana & Cho arrive and assist. Lisana mostly in control of the packing. Reeva wants to know what is going on. Rebel comms asks for pilots. Reeva volunteers. Dane agrees to go if he can get an engineer for the Nexu. They meet up. Reeva offers herself as his gunner. Cho heads to talk to Reina to find out what options they might have. Lisana takes the luggage. Dane suggests she stays as pilot for the Nexu. She says if it gets up and running, they can swing the speeder to it, and both go. Seems like a plan. Dane grabs a speeder and powers it up, Reeva bundles in the back. Harpoon & light laser cannons in the back. They head out, walkers in the distance.

There is a call to use harpoons. Dane swoops in, Reeva fires and the harpoon strikes. Dane swirls around, wrapping the cables around its legs! It falls! Across the field another one is taken down. Then we take an engine hit on the speeder and it spins out of control.

There is fighting all around, chaos, shouts.

Cho is still following Reina who is evacuating at speed. Then she feels a familiar frightening presence of a strong force-user. Ahead the corridor starts to collapse on Reina. Cho instinctively reaches for the force to grab Reina from danger.

Dane manages to crash land safely. He and Reeva scrabble out and head for the Nexu. Urrly helps verbally as he is being pursued so Dane says to head for the Nexu. Lisana & Zak & the engineers have the Nexu ready to depart & the engineers rush off to join their comrades.

Cho has just pulled Reina from the collapsing corridor and offered a hand. Reina takes it but is wary of Cho as she knows now how powerful Cho is and that she has used dark forces. Cho tells Reeva that Vader is here and that her mother is safe. Everyone converges on the Nexu. We are under fire but not hit. Urrly is fighting his retreat. Dane heads for the bridge, Reeva a turret, Zak getting everyone on board. Reeva finds the turret needs a reset.

Dane does a spectacular take-off, and we are out of there! 😊

Zak & Reeva talk about Reeva’s meeting with Reina. Reeva thinks it went better than she thought but she needs to work out what she wants.

Dane has a one on one with Reina about the mission where a large part of his family was wiped out. He also asks about the man who mind blocked him. She had plausible explanations for all of it and seems genuinely sorry for Dane’s loss. For the moment Dane accepts what she says.

Cho sets up a meet with Carid at an out of the way cantina on Saleucami.

We know that the relationship between the Black Sun and the Zan Consortium had gone downhill. The Consortium is more militaristic organisation and smaller. Treehees moved from the Black Sun to them brining with him Black Sun assets. The Zan are tight. Treehees is well under cover.

Zak has the idea of a beach holiday…
• Cho: chilling in relaxed company
• Reeva: banana boat with everyone
• Zak: Rock climbing with Reeva, watching everyone happy together.
• Dane: twitchy at start, total unwind, just relaxing.
• Lisana, relaxing and watching everyone else.
• Urrly, paddling & swimming in sea.

A few days later we get to the Paradise cantina. {Lisana spends 300 cr. Holiday 4000 holiday & fees.} There is an Aqualish bouncer at the door. We head in, personal weapons only. Impression is that folks are doing business here.

Cho & Lisana are escorted by a twi'lek into a side room. Comms cease. Formalities are observed then Carid comes to the point. He wants Treehees gone. Lisana suggests she might take over. Carid says his operatives have followed leads. Three that might prove fruitful: Graf Lind was almost killed by Treehees, lives in a rough area. Kreso Wasamti acquired some goods. Data node – monarch net – could be money laundering fronted by tourism. Each of his operatives failed before they got to him, likely killed. Ideally Carid wants him dead and someone more pliable in place. They confirm that the debt Reeva owes will be cancelled. This is the deal. He agrees. Then he and the twi’lek leave by the back door. Lisana & Cho return and brief the others.
