Missing persons case. Filed by representatives of Mr. Chojiro Nuimon-Bensen. Subject identified as ChIIDA.

ChIIDA, consort to Nuimon-Bensen, was reported as a missing person to the Night City Police Service on the morning of 25 May 2020.

JC Stalker, private investigations, was contracted on Monday 8 June 2020, and a team of investigators was assembled.

Objective: Locate the whereabouts of one ChIIDA.

Subject states destination as The Lance dance club, ST LONGINUS. Destination is in fact the pre-arranged RV point at the Petrochem Station next to the US101.

Emotional departure from Nuimon-Bensen, who later claims he disapproved of subject's plans in statement to police. Keeping up the false pretence, private security detail (Arasaka security forces) is despatched by AV-4 to intercept subject at stated destination. Orders to provide close protection for subject.

Chojiro Nuimon-Bensen was the founder and manager of Bensen Racing from 2003-2013. Bensen Racing was originally a competing team in the All-Japan GT Series, specialising in telemetric and turbo technology.

In 2007 the development of low altitude aerodynes, or hovercars, led to the possibility and increased popularity of hovercar racing. By 2010 the International Low Altitude Aerodyne Championship was officially recognised by Netwatch as the most popular form of motorsport, with world-wide viewing figures far exceeding those of F1GP. During the 2010 season, Network 54 began broadcasting ILAAC coverage in the US.

In partnership with Sikorsky-Mitsubishi, Bensen Racing moved into hovercar racing in 2009 and became the most successful racing team in the history of the ILAAC, winning the constructor's prize for three consequtive years.

In 2013 Bensen Corporation was established to produce high performance, low altitude aerodynes for public sales.

Bensen Corporation's product range now includes the Bensen Cascade hovercar (58,000 eb), and the Bensen Violator hovercycle (100,000 eb). There is also an AV-7 class Bensen Cascade (650,000 eb). Powerplants are all manufactured by Sikorsky-Mitsubishi. Bensen Corporation also has its own after-sales support service in the Bodukkan Performance Centre franchise.

The corporation's annual profit for 2019 was estimated at 359 million eb (net).

As President of Bensen Corporation, Nuimon-Bensen has proven himself highly competent and is one of Japan's leading industrialists. At its establishment in 2013, Bensen Corporation joined Arasaka Corporation on a full membership and has remained a full member ever since.

Arasaka Corporation provides security services for Bensen Corporation's operations world-wide, protecting its business interests at home (in the Pacific Rim) and abroad in the US. Nuimon-Bensen himself lives at his residence on top of the Arasaka Tower, CENTRAL, Night City, CA.

Contrary to official documentation, Chida-Ichi Ikeda Daishi Arasaka was born in 2006 in a research laboratory of Akaromi Biocorp, Tokyo, Japan. As such, she is aged fourteen years as opposed to the age given in official documentation.

However, though hormone treatment she has developed more rapidly than a normal human being, and her body is physically that of a young adult in her late-teens, early-twenties.

To understand Chida-Ichi's present it is necessary to have an understanding of Saburo Arasaka's past.

During WW2 Saburo Arasaka was an unyoke, a political dissident of the far right in Nagasaki, Japan. He and his affianced, Hana Ikeda Daishi were survivors of the atom bomb and in the Post-War years they moved to Tokyo.

Saburo Arasaka was already in his thirties at this time and during the Allied Occupation he became one of the gurentai, or gangsters, operating on the streets of Tokyo and was married to Hana. With his charismatic personality and nationalistic beliefs he was a natural leader and by the Sixties he was an oyabun of the Yakuza (Japanese organised crime).

It was during the Eighties that Saburo Arasaka decided to invest in legitimate business and using his contacts in industry he was a centrifugal force in forming one of Japan's most powerful zaibatsu, i.e., syndicates.

These companies came more and more under his control and influence until in 1996 he merged these companies and formed Arasaka Corporation. The rest is history.

But although Saburo Arasaka was kept alive by cybernetics, in 2003 his wife died of terminal a brain tumour. Using the TRC Biologic Chip developed by the EC in 1993, Kenjiri Nanotechnologies were able to download Hana's eidos (mental form) and store it as data in quantum packets at their supercomputing facility in Osaka, Japan.

Saburo Arasaka now intended to have his wife cloned and her eidos reinstalled into the clone.

There were technological limitations, however. There can only be one copy of an eidos in existence at one time. An attempt to duplicate it will cause the quantum packets in the original to spontaneously annihilate, so there will still only be one copy.

A clone can be grown in a vat, but for its brain to develop and become fully-functional it needs to be exercised. This requires clones to be given a normal life.

So Akaromi Biocorp created a series of Hana clones, each being given a normal life so that their brains might develop.

Even through bio-engineering, the scientists could not correct the damage that had been done to Hana's genetic structure, caused by radiation from the atomic bomb she and Saburo Arasaka survived. Most of the clones soon died from cancers and tumours, a few did not.

Of this few only Chida-Ichi has made it passed the second growth cycle (at the physical age of approx. twenty-one years). Her nearest rival, Tomiko was diagnosed with a brain tumour late last year.

Chida-Ichi had been sent to live with Nuimon-Bensen in 2013, as a token of Saburo Arasaka's appreciation at Bensen Corporation's compliance. He gave her the Net handle, ChIIDA, an abbreviation of Chida-Ichi Ikeda Daishi Arasaka.

As a single male of advancing years, Nuimon-Bensen came to regard Chida-Ichi as the daughter he never had and she was precious to him. He valued nothing more highly than her and was over-protective yet over-generous at the same time. He knew that her time was short and that she would die like the rest of the clones.

Of course, Chida-Ichi knew nothing of this and Nuimon-Bensen never intended to tell her. Until as it happened she didn't die and passed the second growth cycle.

On 11/04/2020 Saburo Arasaka contacted Nuimon-Bensen and informed him that preparations were under way for reinstallation of Hana's eidos. Before a new eidos can be reliably installed, the previous eidos must be erased.

Nuimon-Bensen was faced with the prospect of his daughter being erased. Her body would still be there, but her mind and everything it was made up of, her personality, her memory, would be gone as if it had never existed.

In his opinion, this was a fate worse than death. And so he told Chida-Ichi all he knew and after they had reconciled this, they set about planning Chida-Ichi's escape.
